Vince would have to buy them out first, which he has no reason to do if they're failing on their own.

Vince did the same thing with WCW. I'm sure he'd love to pay a couple mil for the video libraries like he did with WCW.

not exactly the same. there was a market for wcw, bischoff and a couple investors were gonna make a major deal to buy the company, and they wouldve found a tv deal. im not sure theres a channel that will give tna a tv deal.

WCW wasn't going off the air on their own accord when Vince bought them.

Sure they probably would have ended up there, but Vince expedited the process by buying them. TNA is already there on their own.

Plus WCW had a much larger and more richer history to add value to it. Just by purchasing WCW Vince bought the history of the Big Gold Belt. That alone was worthy of buying them out.

TNA doesn't really have any of it. I don't see Vince being too excited at the notion of buying them out, but who knows. If the price was cheap enough I guess he wouldn't mind.

If this were 2001, he would likely low-ball them and buy them out. He would have wanted to grab the viable talent so Jeff Jarrett doesn't get them and eliminate competition. Although, if this were 2001, TNA wouldn't exist, as TNA exists because WCW didn't... but then Jeff Jarrett also owned TNA so...

In 2014, with the shareholders stuff... unless he can justify a low-ball offer to add more to the Network library to add more content to (save) the network, I doubt the WWE would spend the cash unless it was BARGAIN BASEMENT.

Aol/time warner wouldn't give wcw the mon & thurs prime time tv slots and that's when Bischoff's offer fell apart. Which basically left Vince as the only option. He did it to get the video libraries, and any value added by the contracts he did buy was gravy.

Plus it led to that stupid invasion angle.

It sucked to me because you had a bunch of B listers (along with RVD, DDP, and Booker T). You had no Flair, no nWo, no Steiner, no Goldberg, no Sting, etc involved. Even though each of them (except Sting) made WWF debuts within a couple years of completion of the "Invasion". Heck Flair made his debut the very next night on Raw! Many fans wanted to see the likes of the Hardy's vs Harlem Heat, Goldberg vs Austin, Taker vs Goldberg, Hogan vs Austin, Steiners vs E&C. It just left a bad taste in my mouth that WCW was suppose to be a threat when you didn't shell out for who made WCW the entity that beat WWF in the ratings for 80+ weeks in a row.

I'm still upset we never got People's Champ vs People's Champ during that, instead we got DDP the married perv getting his ass kicked by Taker and his now ex wife.

I agree they didn't fully utilize WCW talent during it, and the way they instead used DDP was my biggest miff, but I still enjoyed it in spite of all of that.

Speaking of the nWo, now that was an angle the WWF should have left alone.
