Thread: Official WWE/TNA/ROH Thread

    Re: Official WWE Thread

I reluctantly threw Bryan's name in there... Until the past 3 months you couldn't put his name there... Trendy, they won't ever turn Cena heel... He best compares to Hulk Hogan... Vince was NEVER going to turn Hogan heel, he had to leave WWF to go to WCW to be a heel... It's going to be the same thing with Cena, only way to go full heel is for him to leave WWE...

Take out Bryan and Punk I'd agree with you. Its the breakfast club and everyone else. Punk and Bryan got there on the backs of their independent days and inspite of WWE IMO. I mean WWE had the single hottest star during the Summer of Punk, flushed that by having him job to HHH, turn into a cookie cutter heel to try and get people to boo him, and yet... couple years later he's rivaling Cena for biggest face yet again. Thats because of the ability of one CM Punk, Daniel Bryan's grown a lot since losing the title in 18 seconds with Team Hell No it let him be built properly rather than just thrusted into it like they did with the MITB.

The best I think we can hope for is that they change his gimmick a bit. Cena sells too much merchandise and publicity for WWE to ever really make him a heel until they have something bigger (see WCW with the NWO) to offset the loss or build up the total value.

Part of the problem with Cena, and I hate to admit this, is that he's now in the Rock/Austin/Michaels/HHH/Taker category of guys that you can have play the heel character, but will still be cheered... It's going to be a complete role reversal for him if he ever does turn heel because he'll have the kids booing him and the adults cheering like crazy since it's what we've wanted for 10 years now!

You can't just toss pushes out the window and say they don't count. I don't care how hard Punk worked they still had to book him as champ for longer than anyone in the modern era and they did.

I'm not going to pretend they don't have their faults and their favorites but give credit when it's due.

    Re: Official WWE Thread

Unless you're talking to Slyder, I have been... It wasn't easy for them to book Punk as champ for over year, and a month here and a month there it was kinda stale, but his reign overall was very solid and helped build him up to be put in that same category with Cena/Orton/Del Rio... And with the solid booking of Bryan this year he's been able to solidify his name in that category, though he's on the second tier of that category...

I was taking to slyder because he said to take Bryan and Punk out and argued their pushes are their own doing.

Prediction for Summer Slam:Starting least interesting to most interesting (to me only)

Natalya vs Brie Bella Well they have this new show I've not watched or heard of but they've been hyping the heck out of and as much as I hate to see Natalya lose...
    Winner Brie Bella

Dolph Ziggler and Kaitlyn vs Big E and AJ Lee Why won't WWE ever let Ziggler shine on his own for anything!!! I hate this match because of the other pieces involved. I hope the WWE does the right thing but I'm going with they'll do the screwed up thing... Ziggler Jobs. Why I don't know.
Winner AJ Lee and Big E (continueing these fueds for another month

Cody Rhodes vs Damien Sandow I hope this fued ends now. I just don't like these two together. I feel Dustin was the more talented Rhodes son and that Sandow is destined to be one of the premier heels in the industry going forward.
Winner: Cody Rhodes because WWE is going to piss me off by dragging this out

US Title: RVD vs Dean Ambrose Why is this match on the kickoff? This match could be 50x the match of the first two (and maybe even the third) if RVD's head is right. RVD at this point is probably Y2J and destined to make younger guys look good.
    Winner: Dean Ambrose

Infer... oh yea PG... Ring of Fire Match Kane vs Bray Wyatt Great way to start Bray Wyatt out IMO. He just needs to be careful with that beard... I figure at least one guy gets caught on fire at some point in the match. I'm interested in seeing this match but that just goes to show how I am looking forward to the rest of them.
    Winner: Bray Wyatt

World Title ADR vs Christian Big Peep here and I hope they correct a HUGE reason why I quit watching Smackdown consistantly... Give Christian a new finisher (his spear is WEAK) and give him a legitimate title reign rather than the chicken crap ones he's had. ADRs face turn set him back to square one IMO and they rushed him into the title picture. They should have had him win it after winning the Rumble. Please WWE do what's right and reward a very good worker.
    Winner: Christian

WWE Title 5 moves of Doom vs YES! ... if the ending is ANYTHING other than YES! YES! YES! YES! ringing out I will want to escalate my passive boycott of all things Cena related. Trips is probably there to screw up some count or something so Bryan doesn't beat Cena clean. I know what I'd perfer Tap or Snap x2 with Bryan beating both Cena AND Orton with the Yes! Lock. Doubt if we see that though.
Winner: Daniel Bryan with some cheap win and Cena gets elbow surgery and comes back to squash Bryan at Rumble probably.

Beast vs Best Probably the most enjoyable feud leading into this ppv for me. They have done a BEAUTIFUL job building this up. I just hope they don't screw this up with the WWE thats always a concern. Can't wait to see this match and probably should be the main event but wont be.
Winner: CM Punk, Heyman/Punk fued probably continues in some form but Brock is apparently not scheduled back til closer to Rumble/Mania build up.

I'll agree with ALMOST all of that... ADR beats Christian, Bryan beats Cena clean, Orton cashes in after Trips leaves Bryan laying to leave Champ, and Brock beats Punk...

I think the Lesnar/Heyman/Punk feud continues until at least Survivor Series in a Team Punk vs. Team Heyman elimination match...

You're spending a lot of money on Lesnar, I don't think you burn valuable appearances on a Survivor Series match. If you want to say Team Heyman vs Team Punk, I could see that.

On thing I do find interesting is that they've put Barrett in the middle of the McMahon, Hemsley, Daniel Bryan stuff. Maybe they've seen the light on him and trying to get him main event ready again...

On Orton, I don't think he's ready. They've blown it up to such a level that I don't think they'd do it at this moment. At worst what you may see is him come to ring side and Bryan catches him in the yes lock before he can cash in or he goes to "congratulate" Bryan on the win and Bryan returns the favor from Raw a couple weeks ago.

But we're at the point that with another Brock loss, can you really claim he is a Beast? You really need to have him win to keep up the dominating, unbeatable, beast... He's won I think it's 2 matches against Cena and HHH, despite losing 2 to each of them... I understand putting guys over, but did it do any good at all to have Lesnar lose to HHH? In order to really capitalize on Brock's return, you need to have him go over some of the top guys in the company on a consistent basis so that when you finally have him put over a guy on the level of say a Fandango, McIntyre, Sandow, Kingston it really elevates them into Main Event status and solidfys them at that level...

It hasn't hurt him yet and he still has 2 things going for him 1) Resume and 2) Paul Heyman. You would do more damage to CM Punk by cutting his knees out at a big 4 PPV. Lesnar doesn't need a win, his name still carries a lot of prestige its like Y2J. Just listen to any reaction he gets when he appears. People understand he's still the same bad a** mfer and that's not going to change. He's still 325 lbs of pure granite and arguably the single greatest athlete in the WWE, maybe ever. He could single handedly return Punk to the level of the Pipe Bomb with a 5 star caliber match with Punk and Punk going over.

Punk is a completely different animal than those others you mentioned. I wouldn't even put any of the others in the ring with Lesnar unless it was just to completely destroy them. They aren't built to be in the prime time like Punk is already. Punk is the arguably 2nd most over face in the entire company right now (2nd to Bryan UT I don't include because he's seen so sparsely, yes I think he is more over than Cena and Orton). He was still getting cheers facing the Undertaker, that right there should tell you something. Of those you mentioned Sandow is probably the closest and he still needs a LOT of work before I would begin to put him in the same class as Punk, Bryan, Cena, etc.

Plus the fact Lesnar will be off tv and out of sight for a while and then when he comes back its HOLY CRAP ITS BROCK LESNAR!!! WWE hasn't completely forgotten how to book a side show/big event (see Taker). Its how guys kept basically the same gimmick for as long as they did. They show up somewhere, make money, leave, come back some time later with renewed interest.

For starters, Ziggler has effectively been on his own since he returned from the neck injury and they quit having AJ come out with him even before they officially broke up.

They're not making Katelyn his "girlfriend" or anything. This is nothing more than filler for SummerSlam since they don't have him in the title picture for the moment. I'm not sweating it.

As for who jobs? I wouldn't completely rule out Ziggler getting pinned but if Ziggler's team loses my money would be on AJ pinning Katelyn.

Considering it's now official they're not going to do the stupid thing and put the case on the line at Summer Slam I really hope Sandow wins this and ends the feud now so they can move on and not do that at a future PPV.

Unfortunately, I think Cody's remark on Raw about not letting Sandow become WHC before him hints at them dragging this out.

I wouldn't mind the feud, though, if it didn't have such a ridiculous premise killing the entire thing.

I don't get why this is the kickoff either. Should be a good match.

I like Wyatt and I'm looking forward to this match.

I wouldn't put it past them to not set anyone on fire, though. Cole keeps reiterating "the fire is meant to keep people out, not to set anyone on fire".

Agreed on Christian's spear. They only do that to pay homage to Edge. Let Christian be his own man.

I'm indifferent on this match. I'm really not a big fan of Christian (although I respect his work ethic and feel he deserves it) and I agree with you on ADR.

Bryan likely wins after HHH thwarts off Vince or something.

I would rather not see Orton cash in and fail (or cash in at all). I'm hoping his case is a catalyst to a future heel turn.
