    Re: Official WWE Thread

WWE has become SOOOOO cliche. Triple H has become what Vince was in the 90's and early 2000's (golly gee, who didn't see that coming). Daniel Bryan is the PG era version of Stone Cold Steve Austin. Cena is the PG era version of Hulk Hogan. So on and so forth.

In my opinion, WWE has missed the mark on quite a few talents. The biggest is Dolph Ziggler. Vince says that Ziggler can't move tickets and merchandise. Ok, I bet Vince said the same thing about Shawn Michaels before Shawn became HBK. He's reminds me so much of HBK. I just don't get why he doesn't get a main event push. (Speaking of HBK, does anyone else think he could come back tomorrow and be better than 90% of the talent on the WWE roster?)

The second is CM Punk. He was a main eventer as of a year ago and now he's in a ridiculous storyline where he wants to end Heyman. He should be the face of the WWE and not Randy (considering Randy has multiple suspensions for being on drugs/drunk/steroids).

Speaking of Heyman and his clients: can WWE just go ahead and book Ryback vs Bill Goldberg for WM 30 already? That way they can "future endeavor" Ryback. Seriously, he's worse than Cena.

In my opinion, the worst thing WWE ever did was move to the PG era. It's a shell of its former self.

The problem I think is so few of the talents any more can talk. You look back and see guys like the Horsemen, Savage, DDP, Hogan, Dusty, HBK, Heenan, Pillman, Golddust, etc. who could get a mic and talk for a couple minutes and sell out stadiums using just their promo skills. It is a lost art that many blame on the loss of the territories, I blame the Hollywood writers.

Punk is the closest thing to an old school talent in the business in WWE. I like Ziggler, they never seem to want to give him a full fledge opportunity (and the one he got, he got the concussion) or is in the doghouse for some stuff he said about Cena and WWE.

Anyways some predictions for Battleground on Sunday:
Bionic Elbows all around with Cody getting the final pin.
CM Punk blow off with Ryback/Heyman is put off to HIAC (3 weeks away).
I don't know whats going to happen in Bryan/Orton (Orton probably wins with schnanigans, double ko/pin).
Heavyweight Title depends on when Rey is ready. I expect Del Rio to win, hold on to the cross arm breaker and then whoever's next in line (or Rey) comes to get him to break the hold. RVD takes some time off until probably the rumble.

Anyone else expect Rey to win the title at some point just to lose in like a minute so Sandow can cash in and then fued with Rey?

I like Ziggler, I really do. He's a great worker and I hope he gets the push he deserves. But I don't think he's quite on HBK's level, nor will he ever be.

And CM Punk held the WWE title for longer than anybody ever has in the modern era, even longer than the golden boy Cena ever did. And he did it both as a face and a heel during the same run.

It's kind of silly to say they haven't utilized him best just because they're giving other people pushes now for the time being. Punk will have more title runs in the future. You can bank on that.

Yeah, lets be honest folks, WM is just around the corner. Punk will be there, he'll get his shoot.

How much do you want to bet they eventually face turn Ryback to make him the poster boy of seriously standing up to (storyline, obviously) bullies?

Which would be funny considering the force-fed hypocrisy of his angle right now.

    Re: Official WWE Thread

So, Big Show predictably stops Bryan from winning the match, which is fine. It's predictable but it moves the storyline along well IMO.

But then he knocks out Armstrong after and prevents Orton from winning as well, leaving the title up with no champion and managing to put his job in jeopardy after screwing Bryan anyway?

This shit makes no sense, lol

Bionic Elbows all around with Cody getting the final pin. CORRECT
CM Punk blow off with Ryback/Heyman is put off to HIAC (3 weeks away). Punk wins with low blow while Heyman distracts trying to help Ryback

    Re: Official WWE Thread

del rio won clean, rvd had his arm trapped in a chair, del rio stomped on it a couple times then locked in the armbar. decent match, rvd/del rio bore me to tears, so i wasnt paying a huge amount of attention.

i also took a nap through punk/ryback and bryan/orton so i could stay up for oak/sd... no surprises. i imagine big show will come out and say something like "if i gotta do the dirty work for the mcmahons, they might as well make me the face and champion of the company"

Why am I not surprised Super Cena is already back and already in a title picture... I swear everyone else they give legitimate time tables and double what it takes for Cena to make him look like a machine.

    Re: Official WWE Thread

He's Hulk Hogan 2.0. The bigger question is why do they have him wrestle ADR? The only ways I see this match going is: 1) Cena wins WHC, but ADR puts him in the armbar afterwards and Sandow cashes in the briefcase to win the WHC or 2) ADR wins a physically brutal match and Sandow cashes in the briefcase to win the WHC.

BTW, apparently the WWE locker room is wondering if HBK's return as a guest referee for the HIAC match between Orton and Bryan is to get him in a storyline that will have him wrestle one more match at Wrestlemania 30. If that happens, then I would assume that it would be against Triple H and the only way I would have that match happen is if it's Triple H's last match. Personally, I don't believe it for a second. HBK simply doesn't look to be in a good wrestling shape and at his age, it would probably take longer than the time between HIAC and WM30 to get into shape for the match.
