BTW, that CM Punk promo calling out the fat guy in the audience alone makes this hardly anywhere near the bottom 5 of Raws this year.

The only way that could have been better was the fat guy was a plant and actually jumped the barracade to get the snot beat out of him.

While that was a great spot, it still does not make the show as a whole that much better. Yes, it was easily the best segment on Raw, it still didn't make the whole show THAT much better... Their ultimate purpose is actually happening right now... Getting people to talk about the product, and not all of it in a negative way. While we will agree to disagree Leo and Slyder, we can agree that the product as a whole is starting to improve dramatically from where it was just 2 or 3 years ago.

I didn't really believe that segment alone elevated Raw and if I shared your sentiment about the development of the main WWE title storyline I wouldn't really believe that. I was just talking up that awesome segment.

Understandably, it was a great segment... Now THAT I will put in, oh, the top 10 segments on Raw this year. It let Punk be Punk. No face or heel, just a guy coming out and dropping a pipe bomb so to speak. That's what I love about CM Punk... One day he's boo'd, the next he's cheered and it's not because he really did anything different... He's one of the best "tweeners" in WWE history. He is the ultimate package... The kind of guy that can go out on any given night with absolutely no script and just shoot ,and then follow it up later in the night with usually the best match on the card. Very rarely do they get this out of their top guys.. Either they are great on the mic, or they are great in the ring...

They are, but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing given the storyline.

They're still telling a story. Typically viewers like consistency in storytelling.

That being said, I'm willing to forget about the "iron clad contract" because that was a dumb angle anyway.

But I can see them still using it and bascally inferring that, despite it, Show was reluctant at first because of other possile not-being-fired reprecautions but eventually says screw it anyway.

If Cena/Orton keeps both out of the title picture after Mania I'm all for it. Maybe they'll use Punk as an ally to further him. Since before too much longer it will probably be Del Rio vs Ziggler (this time it REALLY COUNTS!!!) for the whc.

I figure we get something like Bryan/Show/Ziggler/Christian/?? v. HHH/Orton/Sheild at Survivor Series. The help should be forthcoming, they're just dragging it out so people don't switch to MNF in 2 weeks. (Labor Day is already going to hurt the ratings next week.)
