    Re: Official WWE Thread

Speaking of Christian's finisher, though, it seems as of late his finisher is the surprise rollup.

I hate that nonsense. I mean, I get the gritty overcome the odds feel they go for with that but it just comes off as cheap whenever somebody wins that way. I know it probably shouldn't, but it does.

Every once in awhile, sure, it's kinda funny when they catch somebody by surprise that way, but 2 times in a row? C'mon now.

Gah the World Title is still THE best looking title of all the WWE belts. Its a shame WWE has let it become basically a midcard title.

I know some people are going to complain about it but I love it actually.

Bryan wins clean over Cena <---- Major push with or without walking out with the title

Orton recemented as a heel as he should be <------ no longer bland

Perfect finish. And Bryan will get his run. No way they don't give it to him down the line.

I do agree Orton needed the heel turn, I didn't think they'd do it tonight with as much as they played it up. I'm more surprised by HHH planting Bryan, I thought they'd keep HHH as a clear face at least until they finish whatever the plan is in HHH vs Vince power struggle. New corporation/legacy maybe? Seems like a bit of overkill with Shield and Wyatt Family. I would be intrigued by a Shield face turn to combat the "injustice" of the new "corporation"?

I was wrong on Best/Beast, how they booked it was awesome. I might actually tune in and pay attention to Raw (still not a fan of Orton). I'll say this I will be BEYOND PISSED if its Orton/Cena going forward and Bryan/Vince/HHH in some quasi mess.

After that finish I'm forced to wonder if they're still planning any kind of HHH vs Vince feud in the first place.

Which is sad because it was kind of fun hearing HHH sound like CM Punk...

i watched two matches... and both were superb. i was mad at the ending initially, but im starting to come around, as long as its done correctly. build this to bryan finally overcoming all the obstacles at wrestlemania and winning the belt... though im unsure they know how to run a storyline over 2 weeks anymore. and hell, im intrigued for raw tomorrow, so if thats what they were going for, they did that successfully too.

I know some are still watching raw so i won't spoil anything and just say I hate how the ending came across(not the final cut out picture but the segment as a whole).

It was a tad underwhelming but I think it still sets up nicely.

In the future, btw, don't worry about posting stuff in here after the show has aired. I know not to open up any WWE related threads after Raw (or Smackdown) if I haven't watched it yet.

I just didn't want any AIM messages coming in because those are harder to avoid.

This was easily one of the worst Raws this year, maybe in a long time. The only bright spots were CM Punks promo in the ring, especially calling out the fat guy in the audience... The next was Cena actually saying he's going to be gone for 4 to 6 months (YES! YES! YES! YES!), and finally Zack Ryder getting some camera time, even though it was for a lousy Foot Locker spot...

The final segment was very poorly thought of... Why would The Shield stand guard for HHH, Vince and Stephanie? I thought they were supposed to be rebels against the system? Yes this really sets up Bryan to be the ultimate underdog, but really? It really makes me wonder who thought up this crap...

    Re: Official WWE Thread

Worst Raw of the year? Not even close. I still enjoyed it.

Was I a bit underwhelmed from what I expected with the follow up? Yeah. I didn't like Cena kicking off the show when he's leaving. I didn't like Stephanie being the first person to say anything when she's basially been nondescript. And I wish they wouldn't overemphasize the condescending pandering to Bryan and just flat say they don't like him.

But all in all I still say it works.

As for the Shield, you can't have them play the "rebels to the system" (Which they've never been) when the system is the main heel now.

And they've never been rebels against the system. They've simply been pushers of "justice", or at least their view of it. So if they felt the system is now standing for their perverted view of justice it still fits.

    Re: Official WWE Thread

i actually didnt mind the last segment. it gives bryan something to get through to kill time til the rumble. you cant carry what seems to be some potential long term booking, without bryan having anyone to run through in the mean time. and you cant just hot shot him vs orton or trips next month. so im fine with the shield being the consistent hired muscle of the corporation.

The shield fits in perfectly with this angle.

I'd even be fine with it if their gimmick was anti-establishment and not just standing for their perception of self-serving justice. (which never had any clear direction anyway. They always just attacked people and callled themselves the perveyors of justice while almost never proclaiming what injustice the person they attacked is guilty of)

Anyway, the Shield as hired muscle fits so perfectly that even if they were anti-establishment I'd be willing to sacrifice some bit of continuity.

I even called as much in AIM conversation with Slyder.

You got so much muscle as heels though right now I would have turned Shield face just to balance it out some and brought in some NXT guys to be HHH's muscle.

WWE= Heel, WHC=Heel, US=Heel, IC=Heel, TT=Heel, Divas=Heel, Wyatt Family, MITB=Heel already, Cena gone 4-6 months (my prediction surprise appearance at Survivor Series and the very worst he does like Bret did if he's not cleared to wrestle (gets DQ) and helps Bryan. You could immediately flip a lot of that by simply making Shield Faces. Plus I think theres a lot of money to be made in the vests and Shield merchandise before they break up.

I don't think this is setup to get anyone else more over than the breakfast club (mostly Orton) and that is what scared me.

The Sheild fits so perfectly as their muscle it'd almost be stupid not to use them.

You may have a valid point regarding the heel vs face numbers but the Shield aren't the ones you turn...at the very least not just yet.

And don't say continuity after their long battles with Bryan, lol

Also, I'd squash those fears. If they wanted to squash Bryan's heat he wouldn't be the centerpiece of all the screwjobs and the focus of the show.

Orton's being pandered as the main heel, so maybe you can argue that's holding another heel down, but don't be cynical about Bryan. It's painfully obvious they're building him up now, has been for months.

If they wanted to bury Bryan for real and not just in storyline as they've been doing he would have lost clean to Cena and moved on.
