Ellsbury is a fine player, but he isn't even the best CF in his division.

His BB/K is amazing even if his HR totals have dipped. I just think he brings more value than Verlander who can only affect 35 games or so on his own. I do like the fact that he saves his bullpen and I see the greatness he has had this year but I view the word value differently. That Cabrera is out there everyday is much more valuable to me.
I get so sick of this:
    Cabrera's total ABs: 688
    Verlander's Batters Faced: 824

When a pitcher is so far beyond every other pitcher they have to be considered.

    Note: To get my totals....
    Cabreras total AB= ABs+Walks+IBB
    Verlanders batters faced= (IPx3)+ BB

"Oh, don't mind me, I'm rebuilding now" then you win at least 80 games

Cabrera's contribution to his team's performance isn't limited just to his plate appearances.

When he's on base he's contributing.
When someone is on base during his at bat he's contributing double, triple, or quadruple (assuming he does something, of course)
When he's playing defense he's contributing.

And I am sick of this backwards thinking that an everyday player contributions can only be labeled in PA.

Ellsbury is definitely better than Granderson... I'm not really sure how you can think Granderson is better...

Re: Who is the AL MVP?

The only thing Ellsbury has on Granderson is batting average and stolen bases.

Speaking offensive statistics, though. Ellsbury is most likely the better defensive player, but I haven't seen many Red Sox or Yankee games this year.

Re: Who is the AL MVP?

Ellsbury is a leadoff hitter... he should have higher BA and more SB... the fact he has 31 HR's is a bonus and most leadoff hitters don't contain that weapon

The RBI are nice too, I mean, their bottom of the order hasn't always been pretty. Good year, that's why he's a deserving candidate. Monster year for the award if you ask me. Same for the Cy Young. If you took out Verlander's dominate year, just look at what's left..it's pretty damn awesome.

When the pitcher throws the pitch, that leads to those 3 things you listed.
