Any rate, what actually happens shouldn't matter in these discussions.
It's like debating about Hall of Fame status. I don't want to know what you think the BBWAA thinks. I want to know what you think.

Those aren't arguments for team winning percentage or standings to the MVP and with or without Bautista, the Jays are probably in 4th anyway. If that's all you took for those comments then you aren't reading thoroughly, especially my comment and my NL MVP thread. No one has made the argument that standings=MVP. I will say this though, no MVP should ever come from a last place team.

All of you that agree with Gonzalez also share the same opinion as Tim McCarver. Just saying....
Also, lets look at some interesting stats....
Wins Above Replacement, American League
Jose Bautista - 6.6
Ad. Gonzalez - 4.8
Jac. Ellsbury - 4.8
Ya see that. Jacoby Ellsbury. You could make a case that he is as "valuable" as Gonzalez. Pedroia sits with a 4.7, Youk with a 3.3. Gonzlaez has a lot of help, which doesn't make him as valuable.
Second best on the Jays. Yunel Escobar at 2.6. Hell Corey Patterson sits 4th on the leaderboard for the Jays. COREY PAtTERSON!!!!!!!!
Definitely make some good points. I am starting to lean towards Asdrubal now that I think more and more about it. Sort of the McCutchen of the AL.
I did in one instance, sure. I wasn't guilty of it in any of the arguments I made that you tried to point out though. I also don't think a MVP or DH should win the MVP. That DH best hit .400+ with 60+ HRs and set a RBI record. So lets recap for mofo: a MVP should not come from a last place team and be an everyday player that plays both sides of the ball.
