I voted for Justin Morneau, with a codicil. If the White Sox hold on and win the AL Central, Quentin is the MVP. If the Twins win, it's Morneau.

People think Mauer is more valuable.
His average with RISP is .364 but thats okay...

I think "M&M" are one of the best combo's on the game now. With Mauer hitting .324, and Morneau driving in 106 runs. A great combination of hitting in you 3,4 spots.
So there you have it, what do you consider more valuable, Avg, or RBI?
And I went with the homer vote, Morneau.
Morneau also provides more power. I think this is sort of a down year for him, but you know it's there.

He has fewer homeruns than Mora, Luke Scott, and Thames.. to name a few. I think he's a better power hitter than those guys.

From what I read, fans and MInnesota media say Mauer is more valuable. I think Morneau and Mauer are both equally valuable. Morneau drives in the runs and make the offense go. Mauer gets on base and scores the runs Morneau drives in and also calls a good game behind the plate. I was the first on this site to make a case for Morneau for MVP the year he won it. After he won it, I was one of the very few saying he deserved it.
More stats:
ARod: R on 3 only, 2 out: .346, 1 HR, 12 RBI in 26 AB
2 outs, RISP: .250, 3 HR, 19 RBI, .447 OBP, .858 OPS
Late & Close: .270, 2 HR, 7 RBI, .365 OBP, .825 OPS, 4 GIDP in 63 AB
Within 3 R: .293, 19 HR, 59 RBI, .385 OBP, .914 OPS, 14 GIDP in 352 AB
vs. BOS: .305, 2 HR, 6 RBI, .878 OPS, 3 GIDP in 59 AB
vs. MIN: .390, 3 HR, 12 RBI, 1.213 OPS, 2 GDP in 41 AB
vs. CHW: -
vs. TB: .371, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 1.034 OPS, 0 GIDP in 35 AB (not including tonight I believe)
Honestly, ARod is still beasting this year. With 24 GL, that means ARod missed probably about 10-18 games this year he would've played in. Give him what, 3 or 4 more HR? He'd hit 40 maybe even 50 this year.
Get off his back.
Sorry his OPS isn't .950 in every situation.
Since the Q man is out, I will change my vote to Pedroia.

I change my vote to Josh Hamilton, since Quentin is a damn idiot.
2003 Hybrid World Champion (115-47 reg season, 11-4 playoffs)
TBL: Anaheim Angels 2006-present (238-244 regular season, 1 division title)
MSL: St Louis Cardinals 2013-present (2734-2936 regular season, 5 division titles, 2 championships)
TSSL: Seattle Mariners 2006-2029, Pittsburgh Pirates 2030-present (209-277, 5 division titles w/SEA, 1 championship w/SEA)
Now if Minny makes it in now, I can really see Morneau winning it now
Morneau is heating up and is now my pick. Too bad Quentin is done! I can't jump on the Pedroia bandwagon since I find Youkilis to have been more valuable this season.
Pedroia, now hitting .328, 17 homers, 78 rbi, .378 obp, .499 slugging, 17/18 in steals, great defense..
Shortest MVP contender ever?

How tall was Ozzie? I know he wasn't a MVPor hit cleanup but was close once.
