Maybe having signed that contract and getting that behind him has freed his mind and can solely concentrate on the game. The face of the franchise has been of the very rare bright spots for the Nationals.

Ryan Zimmerman finished April working on a 19-game hitting streak. Just so you know, our streak guru, Trent McCotter, reports that the all-time record for longest hitting streak by a guy whose name starts with a Z is 23, by Heinie Zimmerman in 1912.
