Great story.

Two weeks ago I was at one, and they wanted $6 for a beer. Yeah we got a couple free drinks for happy hour, but that ended and than comes the dinner and speaches, followed by the dance and party. So I would fill up the disposable coffee cup from my hotel room with beer that I purchased, and than go down to the party. Everyone was doing it, even the bride and groom, and the party was awesome.
