I'm 100% cool with resetting injuries, seems fair.
This does bring me to a new question... admittedly, I have been touching up player profiles (from minor stuff like velocity to pitch-types. fangraphs.com is a great site for this kind of info, so I know the info is pretty much dead on). The default OOTP10 roster has a lot of little mistakes, i.e. Zumaya's velocity is defaulted at 95-97 (to put it into perspective, he hit 100mph or more nearly 200 times before he landed on the DL this year-- where he's been since July).
Getting to the point... a lot of players are outdated by OOTP10's standards. I have been fixing these things up. Another good example, Verlander from this year and last year. It could just be vast improvement, but whatever the case may be, he's a complete power pitcher now and his FB sat in the high 90s this year for the majority, instead of topping out at 92-93 like it did last year.
Scott Feldman, virtual unknown going into this season. Won 16 games. Randy Wells is another one like him (although a different pitcher on all acounts)... but they're both pretty bad, even for the new OOTP rating standpoints. So I have been fixing players like that. I didn't max anyone to the point of insanity, nor have I made anyone decline past a certain point. I'm\
I guess what I'm getting at, I guess, is guys like Ben Sheets who are injured for long periods in real life.. and will be a FA by default in our league.. can I modify their ratings accordingly without people getting upset?
And one last question, since teams are releasing players already. In the case of a guy like Proctor & Florida, where he was just released, should I leave him on FLA? David Davidson is another fringe-MR they cut, and I have them both sitting in the FA pool admittedly-- but it can be fixed easily.
I guess I just want to know the cutoff date for moves. Waiver deadline of 2009? And anything after that we can discredit? And all injuries are reset (which is fine, since there are a lot of injuries on OOTP10 to begin with, even on the lower settings, and it'd be fair to wipe the slate clean to start).
BIZARRE AND MY MOM!!!!!

And I appreciate all of the quick feedback, it really is helpful.

I'd say for players like Proctor, etc., leave them on the teams and let the GM decide to cut them or not, as I doubt any are really a salary cap hinderance. As for FAs, we may just need to do a blind bidding thing, eh?

id still like to finish this last season of arizona, before we start 10.
But at this rate, that'll happen 10 years from now. If he has no interest in the 6.5 league, no sense in beating a dead.. league.
