Spring Training Thread (post modifiers here)

    OFFSEASON ACTIVITIES:

    SPRING TRAINING
First off, you can go with the option of "Ask Coaching Staff" if you'd like and they'll do their recommended spring training moves. You can also do your own spring training modifications and go with Ask Coaching Staff. If you want me to go with the coaches' recommendations though, please post about it in this thread or PM me. If you don't post anything about spring training, I will leave it default.

Two more important things before I get into how spring training works.

Please limit your spring training mods to around 15 players.. give or take is fine, but just don't let it become too overwhelming for me. You guys are always good about this, but it's here just incase.
When listing your spring training mods, please seperate the batters from the pitchers, and if possible, it would be great if you could try to list the players in alphabetical order (not perfect alphabetical order, but just be the letter at the least).

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...training-1.jpg

As you can see (from the above link), the game seperates pitchers and batters into two categories, and lists it in alphabetical order. So when there is a lot of players listed, it would be much easier to scroll from top to bottom and just a lot quicker.

    Hitters:
Four categories (contact, power, eye, defense) with 20 points to spend for each player. You can also teach a position, but in order to do this, you'll have to spread out only 15 points and put 5 towards teaching a new position to the selected player.

Please list the points in this format:

Randall Simon: 5,5,5,5 +Learn Position (if needed)

There's a picture for more explanation if anyone's still confused.

    Pitchers:
Four categories (stuff, velocity, control, stamina) with 20 points to spend for each player. You can also teach a new role, but in order to do this, you'll have to spread out only 15 points and put 5 towards teaching the new role to the selected player.

Please list the points in this format:

Kevin Tapani: 5,5,5,5 +Learn Role (if needed)

Re: Spring Training Thread (post modifiers here)

Just a note-- this will likely be simmed late Monday evening, or sometime Tuesday during the middle of the afternoon. Not sure yet. Season will begin shortly thereafter. If there is no reply, your team is left at default 5's.

Also, I will have the draft order up and on the boards before the night is out... and we can begin drafting basically ASAP once that post is up, since comp is done and the draft is not being modified.

    Thanks!

    "Ask Coaching Staff" for Oakland.

Parmelee will have to learn RF the hard way...by me sticking him out there until he learns it. I'm not letting his bat take a hit to learn it during ST. Funk that.

Just c+p something from a PM with Buckfoston... wanted to double check things here and make sure I'm not feeding him false info.

Very good question actually, as I have never addressed this and used to wonder the same myself.

From my observation, only current ratings change during spring training... i.e. the overall... and talent does not move. Sometimes if someone's contact talent is say, 6, as is their overall, it can boost to a 7 overall during spring training, maybe even more... but their talent will remain at 6.

I'm going to post this question in the thread if you don't mind, because I want to make sure I got it correct. Prov or Mission might know better.

Re: Spring Training Thread (post modifiers here)

talent won't increase due to ST changes, ratings may or may not increase.

You may get a random increase of talent during ST, but not due to ST changes (at least from my experiences).

if you make adjustments as drastic as GF/Colorado for example, then you run the risk of talent loss with ratings increase as a possible reward.

Yeah, if it goes up, it's the actuals, if down, talent.
