Come on guys, please be more careful when picking. I really don't know what to do with LJ's pick now. It really isn't my job to watch and double-check everyone's pick, although from now on I suppose I should.

Any one have any clue as to what to do with LJ's pick? Create a player with similar ratings to the picks before & after his, and assign him to ATL at his slotted pick? I don't even know what's fair in a situation like this.

Someone offer some insight... and Zodious, thank you for pointing that out-- I never would have seen it either..

No, you shouldn't, because you are not a kindergarten teacher and most people in this league are nearly 20 or over 20 years old. They should be able to read on their own. The 1st page is updated by no less than 3 people usually during the board draft, so it's current for anyone to look at. I really don't know what else you can do but I strongly feel you should not have to babysit here.

I'd say, just this time, consider giving the 2nd team to pick guy already gone someone of equal talent... i.e. create Joe Smith with the same talent and same age and same position(s). BUT, for future sake, if this happens again and we end up going this far into the draft, straight out penalize the team. It's a sim league, no reason to keep things held up or make several teams suffer consequences. Eh?

Nick, I don't think anyone can complain no matter what decision you make. It isn't hard for any of us to go down the list to make sure our pick hasn't been taken already. It's easier to check that for ourselves than for anyone else to do it for us.

About the only "Fair thing" would be to just create a guy at the same position for Atl of similar talent. Unless you want to "reset" the draft back to Atlanta's pick and redo the last part of Rd 1.

Ya or open up the first page where the list is usually fairly upto date and just check that with the Find feature. Caught myself almost taking Keith Cannon again that way.

Look guys, I'm not mad or anything about this at all, but it is rather frusterating when we're strolling along in the draft as quick as we are and we're kinda confused in dealing with sometihng like this. It's just kind of a pain to have to figure out what to do in a situation like this. Something I'd rather not deal with...

Nonetheless, I'm going to just edit & give LJ a similar player, same position, with similar ratings. CJ, I realize I didn't do that for your mishap, but the difference (in my eyes, anyway) is that there were only 3 picks off the board after yours happened, and there was still good value available. With LJ's snafu, there are really not many 1st round talents, if any left at this point. I hope you can understand.

And as Zito said before, I am now going to post a new rule with the draft thread each year.... if you miss your pick, you draft whenenver it is realized, whether that be 1 pick later or 20. It will make people double check their stuff hopefully, which isn't much to ask.

I would say do the same thing CJ had to do...pick over with what's left at this point. It wouldn't really be fair to him if you created a similar guy for LJ when CJ did the same thing and had to pick over.

Or just give everyone one 5.0 star spec to make it fair...at least give me one to make it fair for me lol.

Hey, imply I'm unfair then if you'd like. Doesn't bug me that much. There's a reason why I run an active sim league here I suppose, where everyone participates and rarely people cry foul.

For the record, I'm creating a SP for LJ that would match ratings of other SPs that would have been available around his actual pick. It's not like I'm giving him a clone of the guy CJ drafted. I didn't mean to imply that if that's what you assumed. Sorry... just tired today.

The pitcher will be 7-7-8, with 8 end, and 20 years old opposed to 19, which I think is fair. It's a small step down from 8-8-7 9end 19 yr old or whatever the other guy is.

I will ask LJ if he is cool with 7-7-8... if he'd prefer 8-7-7 or 7-8-7 I really don't mind either way. I could always change that later though. I editted someone in the draft though, and I'll put his name in the thread once I upload the sim.

Theres no reason to make like 10 teams redo their picks cause someone just didnt catch they were drafting a guy who wasnt there. Im fine with Nick just giving CJ a guy similar to who he drafted that was available.
