Tuesday 4/25/2016: Jay Crew fires NO-NO against New York (N)
NEW YORK (N) - Chicago (N)'s right-hander Jay Crew made some history today, firing a no-hitter against New York (N). Their hitters found out the hard way that he is among the leagues top pitchers, never having a chance against his overpowering stuff. 'I really like to play baseball, and I love the way I was able to play it today. I still cannot believe I did it.' Crew (3-1) fanned 7 and walked 5, throwing 119 pitches. Josh Vitters provided Chicago (N) with the offense Crew needed as he finished with 2 hits in 4 AB, hitting a homerun, with 2 RBI. Chicago (N) scored 5 runs on 8 hits.
Monday 5/1/2016: Chicago (N)'s Vitters wins Player of the Week award
The American League's best player of the week was Chicago (A)'s Adrian Gonzalez, who wins the award for the 1st time in his career. In 28 at bats he hit .429 with 3 HR and 7 RBI. This year Gonzalez drove in 12 and scored 9 runs while batting .279 with 3 longballs. The National League's best player of the week was Chicago (N)'s Josh Vitters, who wins the award for the 1st time in his career. Josh was on fire, hitting .500 with 4 HR and 10 RBI.

I'm kind of pumped Crew got his first No-No at a young age. Hell he got is first complete game shutout two starts before. With Galloway, Vitters, and Andrus doing their part offensively. I'm hoping it starts reflecting in the record.

I threw a no-hitter in senior league (ages 13 - 15) with 6 walks, 6 unearned runs, and I can't remember how many friggin' errors...but no hits lol. we won 10 - 6. at the other end of the spectrum I threw a 2-hitter in high school with no walks and we lost 2 - 1...1 of those hits was the only homer I ever gave up in high school ball.
In HS I did short relief occasionally, besides playing SS.. and did actually get 4K's in 1 inning... my claim to fame

I was a junkballer.. and while the forkball was sometimes deadly for the hitter, it also sometimes resulted in a blast HR and the more-than-occasional PB

no doubt lol...forkball wasn't something I could throw because I had a 3/4 arm angle and you have to get on top of the forkball or it'll hang like you said...and be blasted into next week.
one of the coolest things was hitting 2 homers (solo, then a grand slam) on Father's Day when I was 12.
I closed out the all-star game one year by striking out the side... only real accomplishment I've ever had. I just remember we were losing big, and came back to take the lead in the 5th or 6th (only played 6 or 7 innings to my recollection)...
I had 6 up, 6 down with the strikeout in an exhibition game one year too. But it didn't count and it was basically live batting practice... I think it was split squads.

The highlight of my baseball career was probably starting a triple play. Playoff game, bases loaded, nobody out, pitcher couldn't throw strikes, finally gets one over the plate and it's lined into center, I make a diving catch and throw it in, the SS steps on second and tags the runner. We won by 2.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.
Ah, give me something clever to say here.
