I don't feel the need to tank.

I put my best line up forward and I still have the 7th or 8th pick. I should be able to find a good prospect there.

Although, I suppose I could have brought Martin and Lamas up for the last two sims, but not doing that was for financial purposes than not wanting to win too much.

Which is why I added why I did it.

I mean, if you're going to accuse someone of tanking just because they make a move (or non-move in my case) that weakens their line up then anyone who makes a deadline trade for prospects is also "tanking".

As I said, not doing that was for financial purposes.

I don't care one way or the other...it's certainly not complete and total tanking. I'm just saying I think that's what el sabre meant.

I don't think it's dishonest and it doesn't go against any principals I have to make a move (or non move) that weakens your roster if there's sound reasoning behind it other than simply trying to lose more.

Trying to delay arbitration and then free agency is sound reasoning, much like trying to bolster your farm system in a season where you know you're not going to contend is.

Benching your best players for no reason other than to try to lose is not.

That being said, I don't know if that's what NYGF was doing or not, I was more just using the previous posts as a springboard to post my opinion on "tanking".

I'm not tanking...if you look at my team, I actually have the best players on my roster in the MLB, put together the best lineup and rotation I could, and actually traded for Ryan Braun midseason. So if that's tanking then I apologize. But I'm pretty sure it's not.

I just figured since I had the #1 pick all season, I wanted it bad.

finally, a much needed increase in homers. hopefully, the offense carries this team in the playoffs.

-3 players with 50 or more SBs (another with 41 as a bench player, another with 30 as a bench players, another with 18, and another with 12)
-5 players with 20 or more homers (20, 24, 25, 27, and 41)
-4 players with 90 or more RBIs (90, 95, 105, 118)
-4 players with 100 or more runs scored...all in the top 10 (100, 102, 105, and 112)
-6 pitchers with 11 or more wins
-Pujols led the league in BA, OBP, SLG, and OPS
-Fielder led the league in homers
-Mazzaro led the league in saves

and who the hell could have predicted that SS Pennington would finish in the top 10 for BA? He was 10th with a .304 AVG...he's got a great shot at a GG as well.

I thnk it's more so the division you were in, than a tanking thing. Our division is tough and you had a ton of young players, and your rookie pitchers haven't pitched to their ability yet.
