Dodgers Mark Prior or Brett Myers for free or close to it

#9 Russell Martin, Catcher, 32 yrs, Los Angeles (N) Dodgers - Out of the Park Baseball Report
Here's the deal... he's locked up 'till 2017 at a fairly hefty price. However, if his production returns next year you're getting a top-3 catcher defensively and offensively. I realize his last season with 35 HRs was sort of an abberation, but I never expected him to drop off like he did this year. 20+ HRs and 90+ RBIs has been expected year in, year out from him, with a nice .300 average...

Since it'll be hard to send him somewhere for cheaper contracts, I'm looking for a nice SP that makes similar money to Russell. If someone would rather deal prospects though, and actually has money to take him on... looking for pitching & catcher prospects in return.

I will add more later maybe, but Russell is the one guy I'd like to attempt to move.

Re: Mark Prior or Brett Myers close to free

#22 Mark Prior, Reliever, 35 yrs, Los Angeles (N) Dodgers - Out of the Park Baseball Report
#39 Brett Myers, Reliever, 35 yrs, Los Angeles (N) Dodgers - Out of the Park Baseball Report

Myers has been a great spot starter/long reliever for my squad since I brought him aboard, posting ERAs of 3.56 in 113 ip in 2013, 4.60 in 72 ip in 2014, and then 3.56 again in 101 ip in 2015 (last yr).

Prior, who has mostly pitched out of the rotation since I acquired him, went 17-5 in 2014 and pitched decent enough as a spot starter/long man near the end of the year for me in 2015. He is also the cheaper of the two.

Both are expiring contracts. Myers makes 4.6 million, and Prior makes 2.5 million. Myers is probably the better pitcher of the two at this point, but he does make more $.

I am looking for anything really, want to ditch one for free pretty much. I would take on some salary as long as it doesn't exceed the price of the player you are acquiring. Not opposed to taking on a multi-year deal either as long as it could help my team and doesn't push me over the max, and they don't make more in one season than the player I am sending..

Only looking to deal one of the two. I just need a little money, and it's pointless to have two long men on my team. Take yer pick if interested...
