In the first sim alone, Laffey has 2 wins. My total wins from my number 5 starters last season was 3. Good start. Too bad we only won 4 games so far.

Scott Linebrink ERA of over 5.
Blake Johnson ERA over 5 this year with a whip of 1.05.
Beckett has a bad year every odd year.

    :P Just kidding around nick.

It seems to be "rougher" on those middle of the road guys. I dont see the ones like Donald Degroat that put up great careers even though they dont have the top end all 9-10s talents. Although I might just be over looking things on other teams.

There's more talent depth in this league.

    Re: 2015 Random Mumblings!

Beckett out for 6+ weeks, don't know who I'll replace him with in the rotation yet. Myers or Prior.

Ballester, Krod, Branyan all nicked up too, along with a couple other minor leaguers. Probably will DL Krod for a fresh arm along with Beckett...

Brandon McGee has compiled a 2.87 ERA in AAA with a .339 BABIP... makes me wonder if getting him to the bigs with (potentially) a better defense would help him and his 68GBP/sinker combo succeed. Might try him out in place of Krod.

Decent enough sim, but losing Beckett probably knocks me into 3rd place by the time he gets back.... and if Colorado exceeds expectations who knows.

    Re: 2015 Random Mumblings!

Yeah, part of that is because there's just a different talent layout. I'm sure eventually the talent is going to change over time, but for now, we have a different layout really in terms of talent and shit right down to the stars it seems (I don't know if anyone has noticed, but the maximum rating for SP stars is 3.0 -- I don't know why this is, but it just happened and it's been that way. The best SPs are all 3.0, and it's pretty much up to you to scout the rest of the stuff. So if one SP is 3.0 and 8-8-8 and another is 10-10-10 and 3.0.... then obviously one is better, but they're both listed as 3.0 -- It happened at some point and I didn't catch on to it until a certain point...

    Re: 2015 Random Mumblings!

Also, Slyder... you asked for some middle of the road guys having great careers... I'm sure if I dug I could find something. In addition to that, a lot of guys last well into their 40s in this league too, and perform... check out Hideki Matsui on Sanfran for example:

#55 Hideki Matsui, Leftfield, 40 yrs, San Francisco Giants - Out of the Park Baseball Report

    or Vlad:

#27 Vladimir Guerrero, Rightfield, 39 yrs, New York (N) Mets - Out of the Park Baseball Report

#63 Reid Brignac, Shortstop, 29 yrs, Minnesota Twins - Out of the Park Baseball Report
Reid Brignac won ROTY and put up those numbers with those ratings. I mean, it happens... just have to look. Even if they don't have long careers, it's more or less because they suck.

#65 Matthew Weston, Rightfield, 30 yrs, San Francisco Giants - Out of the Park Baseball Report

It's funny, lots of random dudes who come in and put up one real funky year from time to time I see. We should compile an "All Random" team.

Look at Tsao's last year, he was even Class A comp. 7-8-7 unspectacular run of the mill pitcher.

I think we should see a lot more of that this year too. Pitching has been gradually getting better. I dunno, just look at most teams... multiple pitchers in their bullpens with ERAs below 2 or even 1.

    Batting AVG: .328 (1st)
    Homeruns: 20 (6th)
    Walks: 38 (16th)
    Stolen Bases: 39 (1st)
    Runs Scored: 104 (2nd)

    Pitching ERA: 3.38 (4th)
    Opponents AVG: .221 (3rd)
    HRs Allowed: 10 (5th)
    Walks Allowed: 34 (7th)
    Runs Allowed: 51 (3rd)

10-4... with 3 losses in a row at the end of the SIM.. the last to the YankMes... hopefully the rest of that series goes better

My ace Jurrjens is under performing... Gourriel with a decent start to his 30 year old rookie season at SS... Kotchman was tearing the cover off the ball, and boom, injury... ... Zumaya performing like old, and WHAMMO, loses talent.... Carl Crawford and the batting guru Granderson also with talent losses.... Larish loses ratings at contact...

So... good performance in the SIM... bad luck on the players
