September 1st is a time for renewed hope for a lot of teams, the Kansas City Royals took the day to introduce the 14 new Royals to the fans. To make sure people didn't get confused with all the new faces name tags were passed out and after many pranks and jokes at the expense of management and the club the 20 newest Royals held a Q and A for the fans.
Juan Rideout and Ryan O'Reily was asked what it was like to be traded for a Cy Young Award winner. Ryan response was "Trades like that you hope you can live up to the guy you got traded for, if you dont that's how you become infamous like the Lou Brock trade." When asked if he was a student of the game cause that was like 40 years before he was born he responded... "no Sportscenter wont ever shut up about that trade anytime a major deal happens."
The Royal Roster has dramatically changed from being one of the oldest (4th) to start the year is now Under 30 for average age. That number is going to be going down even more as all the major free agents the Royals will be losing are over 30. Scott Linebrink is the old man of the group at 38, while Dan Johnson is 35. Extensions could still be handed out but from all rumors, Yhency Brazoban is the only one to receive any sort of contact from management about an extension.
When asked about it. GM Slyder responded. As you can see by the men up here today we have a lot of young guys waiting in the wings and we feel that many of the players deserve the opportunity to play elsewhere after this season or next.
And yes I was bored enough to take 5 minutes and write this up myself.

The State of The Philadelphia Phillies
To the beloved fans of the Phillies,
This season has been a struggle, at the beginning of the seasons you as long as myself had high expectations for this team, however some of our players just didn't live up to the numbers from the years past and we find ourselves staring another losing season in the face. We can't just go out and buy players to fit every position, the sad thing is baseball doesn't work like that and as the GM this is the mistake I made and its the one I have to fix.
There are some bright spots on this team, the young starting pitching is doing well. Barnese and Stoffel are having very good seasons with Barnese recently providing the season highlight with a no-hitter. Also we have 2 #1 ace types however for budgetary reasons we will lose 1 or 2 of these guys. I have made a significant increase in the offer to one of them and the other I have no choice but to let hit the free agency market, hopefully we will recieve compensation to help our rebuilding effort.
The real concern of the state of the franchise is the lack of hitting. Besides for youngsters Mattair and Cardenas the lineup is not there. Clement and McPherson didn't produce for us this season despite making a good amount of money. We have to get younger in our lineup. As a result look for me to deal a lot of the guys currently on our squad. I'm not promising a quick fix, but this time it will be done correctly, we will build our farm system to the point where it turns out a starter or 2 for our club every year so we have the money to extend our guys and maybe get the 1 piece we need.
I'm sorry for having failed you and I promise it will not happen again. Feel free to write in with your comments/concerns about our franchise. This isn't just my team, its our team and we need it to be a winner.

We're sorry that Perf Ed is starting, hopefully he can buy himself some talent over the winter. And yes, we agree, BJD still smells of something awful.

Dear Fans,
I'm really not sure what more I could have done. I have two of the top prospects in the League in Donald Crow and Raffy Rodriguez. I have a group of young homegrown talent in Freddie Freeman and Jason Heyward among others. I acquired big time talent in trades that cost us relatively little in prospects, including Rich Harden and Prince Fielder. Yet still, this year has not seen us run away with the division. I'm just not sure what more this team needs, but rest assured when i find the missing piece, I will do everything in my power to acquire that missing piece.
Rest assured this team is good enough to make the playoffs, and will make the playoffs. This team will continue to improve, I'm sure of it. Rest assured, your Atlanta Braves will make you proud. Lets Go Braves!
Sincerely,
Atlanta Braves GM: LJ Milman
