Re: 2011 Talk About My Team Thread (formerly known as random ramblings)

back in 2nd place and tied for the Wild Card lead. Still got plenty of time to comeback and retain my division title at 7.5 games back.

    Batting AVG: .268 (15th)
    Homeruns: 51 (22nd)
    Walks: 217 (1st)
    Stolen Bases: 78 (2nd)
    Runs Scored: 266 (15th)

    Pitching ERA: 4.57 (14th)
    Opponents AVG: .276 (22nd)
    HRs Allowed: 36 (T-2nd)
    Walks Allowed: 167 (9th)
    Runs Allowed: 268 (18th)

team numbers are improving. McCarthy has won 2 out of his last 3 starts so he's pitching better. Barton is heating up.

    Monday 5/29/2011 :
Daric Barton was named Player of the Week!
He batted .611 in 18 AB, with 2 HR and 11 RBI.

Furcal already has 31 steals to lead the league. Actually, he's having a career year; on pace for 33 homers, 108 RBIs, and 129 runs He's already got more homers than last season only need 4 more to tie his career high. Talk about having a walk year.

Re: 2011 Talk About My Team Thread (formerly known as random ramblings)

Back in 1st place, albeit only by half a game.

I'd like to thank K_o_Z for pointing out my oversight of Matt Chico on my AAA team, he's paying early dividends to my bullpen.

Rafael Soriano continues to have an odd line with a 6.00 ERA and a 0.67 WHIP.

    Finally, here's this

    Batting AVG: .281 (6th)
    Homeruns: 58 (15th)
    Walks: 175 (19th)
    Stolen Bases: 39 (15th)
    Runs Scored: 261 (19th)

    Pitching ERA: 3.66 (2nd)
    Opponents AVG: .255 (5th)
    HRs Allowed: 44 (8th)
    Walks Allowed: 156 (7th)
    Runs Allowed: 234 (T-7th)

    8-6 sim

still in the WC and a game behind Tampa Bay

    Batting AVG: .259 (25th)
    Homeruns: 53 (T-18th)
    Walks: 156 (24th)
    Stolen Bases: 13 (28th)
    Runs Scored: 264 (16th)

    Pitching ERA: 4.36 (13th)
    Opponents AVG: .264 (11th)
    HRs Allowed: 76 (26th)
    Walks Allowed: 151 (5th)
    Runs Allowed: 267 (T-16th)

pretty bad team ranking for a WC team

Thursday 6/1/2011: Rios (TOR) win monthly award
Toronto's rightfielder Alexis Rios had some reason to celebrate, as the league named him the American League Batter of the Month. He had an on base percentage of .314 and hit .299, while driving in 29 runs. Rios has hit 12 longballs this year while batting .297. He adds 14 doubles, along with 32 runs scored. He's 7th in the American League in RBIs and 5th in homeruns!

Furcal is an animal... I'd be tempted to throw a dumb offer at him at the deadline, but I'd be too paranoid he'd get back in LA and realize our water stinks.

I just can't sign him if his demands are still $9 mil x 4 years. I can't justify it. I put him on my block and no one said they were interested. I'll ride him out, hope he lowers his demands (not likely), and if he doesn't I'll let him walk with the hopes of getting a compensation pick for him.

    LMAO!

7 game win streak, there's the Brewers I know. 2 games behind Houston.

Lackey and Lilly still available if anyone needs a SP...

Decent 9-7 sim. Im not taking a 7.5 game lead for granted. Especially after blowing a 12 game lead with Arizona in S3SL. The offense is flat out mashing lately. Holliday and Pedroia are beast right now. The Rotation has been solid 1-5. Francis and Meche are 8-2 and Bucholz is 7-2. League has been lights out this season 16 for 16, on pace for 47 saves.

H-Mart and Vitters a.k.a. MY FUTURE have taken talent hits. This is not surprising as I've had HORRIBLE luck in this league. Martinez must have had INSANE power. Because it's still a 10 and he's still my 2nd ranked bat despite 7 contact.

I hope Vitters and Galloway make it to Sept. so I can call them up. H-Mart should still make a nice power bat at the tail end of a lineup. In the end though, I'll deliever a winner to Chicago.

Re: 2011 Talk About My Team Thread (formerly known as random ramblings)

we're leading the Wild Card now. I can't believe the Mariners are doing so well. I still fully expect them to hit a slump there and for us to draw closer. It's still early.

    Batting AVG: .272 (12th)
    Homeruns: 72 (T-17th)
    Walks: 258 (2nd)
    Stolen Bases: 88 (3rd)
    Runs Scored: 353 (10th)

    Pitching ERA: 4.54 (16th)
    Opponents AVG: .271 (22nd)
    HRs Allowed: 49 (3rd)
    Walks Allowed: 202 (9th)
    Runs Allowed: 332 (15th)

McCarthy is pitching well now. 4 - 0 in his last 5 starts (10 earned runs in 37.2 innings = 2.42 ERA). Hopefully, he'll continue and we can make a run in the next couple sims to catch Seattle.

Re: 2011 Talk About My Team Thread (formerly known as random ramblings)

From 8 back to 4.5 back in the division, my pitching finally started throwing up to its capabilities.

10-3 i think for the sim very happy about that.

Seung Song's been a breath of fresh air. Maybe Greinke going to the pen will help some more. Power is still really lacking and I need a big bopper.

    Batting AVG: .276 (9th)
    Homeruns: 54 (27th)
    Walks: 167 (30th)
    Stolen Bases: 64 (10th)
    Runs Scored: 302 (23rd)

    Pitching ERA: 4.21 (10th)
    Opponents AVG: .254 (5th)
    HRs Allowed: 63 (10th)
    Walks Allowed: 250 (26th)
    Runs Allowed: 296 (7th)

Too bad some guys cant figure out how to throw strikes.
