This is why I have no problem letting people overbid on free agents.

if you're including me in that...I almost never participate in FA, but I needed some pitching without trading away guys. I didn't have the funds to compete for Darvish. Hopefully, McCarthy can turn it around. He's not killing me financially since I have 2 big contracts coming off the books unless I decide to sign them.
Yes, I am including you. In fact, you're the only one I'm referring to, since paying Yu Darvish a billion dollars is probably underbidding.

Considering Ryan Chruch remains my only career signing in TPSL. Im sure your not on including me. Then again I havent need to sign a FA yet or couldn't afford one.

Don't know why I never noticed him.
Bleah, 2 pitch starting pitcher, though.
I think I'll replace Ambiorix in the pen with him.
Pitching's not my weak spot though.

I don't see how anyone could pass on a 24 year old 10-9-9 pitcher. It all depends on the funds though, I originally didn't plan on signing anyone this off season until Darvish came in so I could use all my money to negotiate. I still will have 70 mil for next year to pick up few pieces. If he wants to tank for me thats fine, might get me a better pick haha. As long as it is only this season that is.
GET NOTICED.

Eh, I think he should come around.
I can just say this much, since I tweaked the sliders at the start of the season, I don't think there's as much awkward and odd looking stuff around the league as there was the past two years. It's not as hitter-heavy or pitcher-heavy.
And with that being said, since it's early, all of the pitchers (especially those with really good ratings, like Darvish and McCarthy), should come around eventually. But who knows. Maybe Yu Darvish is Kei Igawa.

I generally don't like spending too much in FA, but when all is said and done, I wind up having signed a ton of MLCs and deals under 1 mil or hovering right above for 1 year... and then half the time they wind up in my AAA too early in their contract, and I don't go back to them. See: Aaron Heilman.
I try to set a couple rules. Unless it's a player I really like, I only offer 1 or 2 year contracts. And it's usually MRs too, which I wind up having a surplus of in my minor leagues anyway. So in the end I guess it is pretty dumb, especially considering now Jon Rauch is going to be Aaron Heilman part 2. Ohh well.
Only few FAs I can remember ever bidding a ton for in my time is Jason Pridie (11mil over 5 or something insane), Melvin Polson, and... Kosuke Fukudome in TPSL. Who is finally coming along, but now he's on a cheaper deal. I'm sure I spent a ton on a couple others in S3SL way back when, but I can't remember... and most of my TSSL moves were via trade.
