The only shot you have of getting Zito is when he is old, and shot and I don't want him anymore.

Sounds like your chances at ever winning.

Just curious what my 6th string OF and 4th starter have to do with much of anything. I mean, yeah, my 4th (probably 5th by season's end) starter will have some impact, but Prentice Redman? My position players, let me show you them:

    C: Donny Lucy
    1B: Chase Utley
    2B: Felipe Lopez
    SS: Troy Tulowitzki
    3B: Chris Marrero
    LF: Kevin Janik
    CF: Ryan Freel
    RF: Ryan Langerhans

They are just 2 random players, and Brandon Claussen was a great Yankee prospect at one point. Just a random comment.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

    Re: 2010 Predictions

    My Bold Predictions:

    * = Wild Card

    AL

    AL East:
    1) Baltimore - Every move they made this offseason will help them tremendously this year. They're fairly deep on offense, but INCREDIBLY deep on the pitching staff. Their staff is the best in the AL East, and their offense can do enough to hang with anyone.
    2) NY Yankees* - Their pitching staff is great, and their offense will rake, which is why they will win the Wild Card.
    3) Boston - The offseason spending spree wasn't enough to move past the Yankees, they miss the playoffs despite having the highest payroll in baseball.
    4) Tampa Bay - If this team had more pitching, they might be able to compete. They'll definitely mash the baseball, but teams that face them will too. Team to watch in 2011 with a good offseason.
    5) Toronto - Didn't take too long looking at Toronto's roster to realize that this will be a rebuilding year north of the border.

    AL Central:
    1) Detroit - The signing of Carl Crawford to a HUGE contract baffles me looking at their roster, considering they already had 2 leadoff men and 3 great OFs. Their talent is undeniable, though, and they're all but a shoo-in for the division win.
    2) Cleveland - Not short on talent themselves, the Indians will have a nice season, but not nice enough to make the postseason.
    3) Chicago - A whole lot of spending, not much results...this sounds familiar.
    4) Kansas City - Their rotation will soon be a force to be reckoned with...now all they need is a bullpen to back it up and an offense that can score.
    5) Minnesota - At least they have Joe Mauer...

    AL West:
    1) Seattle - This team has a nice mix of youth and veterans, and with the right moves, should win this division.
    2) Oakland - Great talent all around, I just think they're a tad thinner than Seattle on the pitching staff, which is what I think will decide this division.
    3) Texas - Nice offense, very little pitching
    4) Los Angeles - They could be on top of this division in 2-3 years if they make the right moves.

    Toughest division: AL East

    NL

    NL East:
    1) Florida - That lineup is deadly, and the pitching staff is good enough.
    2) Washington - I like the direction my team is heading in, but I'm going to need 2 things to happen to get by the Marlins, those being development (the key one) and finding better pen arms.
    3) New York - By far the most complete staff in the division, the offense is really lacking though. There won't be much scoring in Shea Stadium this year.
    4) Philadelphia - They have a nice core with very little around it. Could compete again soon with the right moves.
    5) Atlanta - Think Mets lite. Less offense, less pitching...

    NL Central:
    1) St. Louis - The most complete team in the division.
    2) Milwaukee - Yovani Gallardo owns your soul, but lack of a 4th starter (in a 4 man rotation) eventually gets to this team.
    3) Houston - Give this team a middle infield and they challenge for the division.
    4) Cincinatti - This team is a wild card to me, if they can find a nice bat, they'll be in position to compete for the division.
    5) Chicago - They're close to the end of a rebuild, but not quite there.
    6) Pittsburgh - They have a couple nice pieces, but their main strength is their farm system.

    NL West:
    1) Arizona - The deepest of the bunch
    2) Colorado* - A close 2nd
    3) Los Angeles - small dropoff, but looks to be the favorite next year
    4) San Francisco - Wow, a team this good in 4th
    5) San Diego - Peavy, Young, Gonzalez, and meh...they might compete in a few years, they'd be wise to trade Peavy and Young off soon though.

    Toughest division: NL West

    You don't think Lackey's a good 4th starter?

I didn't see Lackey. I evaluated what I saw, and I SCOURED your AAA for a 4th starter and turned up nothing. Lackey gives you the edge there.

Crawford will be a starting OF (With Granderson and Maybin).... Wilkerson, who is in the last year of a contract that will not be renewed) is relegated to 1B against righties... Cleven is going to be a great backup and could really be a starter... but I am playing to win, and to win I want depth... plus with the EBH and SB ability of Crawford, it was a no-brainer to get him... this team was lacking ability on the basepaths before... I wanted to correct that.. and Crawford and Reyes definitely make me believe that mission was accomplished

Ah, the trade with LAA isn't up yet, so you wouldn't have seen him

    Re: 2010 Predictions

I still think Oakland has a better rotation than mine right now.

And in 2-3 years I add Triunfel to this lineup. LAA might have some pieces but most of this team will start its prime by then.

    SD already dealt Peavy.
And then we threw a party for it.
