at first instance, it was a fail based on all of the players alone.. but I just completely broke it down based on players who suck and players who don't, and completely discarded the fact that there's a ton of salary that's added to make it work.

Dent and Soriano are easily the best two pieces, but Soriano isn't going to last his contract probably, and Dent has his flaws. Bard is a nice piece too, and Moss is a nice 4th outfielder.

Right there, Soriano for Dent, Bard, and Moss, I'd do probably.

Now you're getting into whether the add-ons outweight the deal or not..

-Lugo's ratings are ok, but he still completely sucks, so I consider him a contract piece in the deal.
-Clement is a worthless 9 million, but atleast he expires..
-Piniero could be of use, but he's in Boston's minors anyway, so who knows?
-Howry is Chicago's closer, and sucks.

Chicago's clearly getting more here, but it's not like they're getting anything worth while in the more, and it's not like Howry is worth anything either...

so while it's a big cluster**** of a trade, I'm going to pass it... and I know that breakdown was long as balls, but I wanted to explain my side before I passed it, because a simple pass would look stupid in this case.

I don't know about this one. I just don't feel like Chicago's getting anything remotely worth one of the best hitters rating wise in the game. I'll think about it some more but I'm leaning toward a fail.

soriano is a beast, he sold really low to get out of 2 dead years on the contract. plus he gets the lugo contract back for the next 3 years, and hes already dead weight. none of the spects hes getting back is anything special, though if dent gained some power (just to 5 really), id really like him. moss and bard need a boost too, to be big time. im gonna fail, though perhaps if dmb told me how sorianos progressed this year (or nick... what im saying is, if soriano was full 9s in contact, and full 10s in power, and is already declining a little bit, id be a bit more leinient in passing this).
