I am potentially interested in joining. I'd like to learn more info, i've looked through some of the threads, but am interested in a more detailed version of how it all works.

Pm me ucf. Ill try to explain it for you.
2003 Hybrid World Champion (115-47 reg season, 11-4 playoffs)
TBL: Anaheim Angels 2006-present (238-244 regular season, 1 division title)
MSL: St Louis Cardinals 2013-present (2734-2936 regular season, 5 division titles, 2 championships)
TSSL: Seattle Mariners 2006-2029, Pittsburgh Pirates 2030-present (209-277, 5 division titles w/SEA, 1 championship w/SEA)
By and large, it's pretty self explanatory. You're given control of a team with a set of players (which have ratings) and you can set lineups, rotations, bullpen usage, minor league rosters and sign free agents -- to do so, you send your transactions to the league owner (in this case, TrendyBastard), and he goes through all of the transactions for all 30 teams in his copy of the OOTP game. Every few days, he'll then simulate a 20 game stretch of the season. After the sim, the results are uploaded to a page (which you can peruse here: OOTP 6 Generated Website). You can make your next changes the same way before the following simulation. There's a draft, which works simply, the players are created when the year begins, the selections are made throughout the season in a separate thread, and input come June 1. You can make trades by discussing a deal in private with any other GM in the league, coming to an agreement and sending the trade to TrendyBastard, there'll be a vetting period with a Trade Council, and if approved, the deal is entered in Trendy's copy of the game.
Basically, you run your team -- in all of the same ways a GM does -- via private message, board posting and a bit of tinkering.
I'm sure anyone here can answer any additional (specific) questions you may have, and Porter may have already done so, but...

Should I start trading specs for picks?

The picks would die too.
Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
Ted: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.

I'm out for justice, because AMC shows too many shitty Steven Seagal movies.

I'm out for vengeance because I've never been in the playoffs in this league.
I'm out for a few drinks of wine and a good time.
