2015 Power Rankings (3.0), First Half Report Edition

Seemed like free agency was busier than usual. Of course when a team has to cut a third of it's roster, that might add a little spice to the festivities. Last season saw a loaded postseason, but little excitement as Arizona ninja kicked the comp. What will 2015 bring? Hopefully fewer untimely deaths. And lots of root beer.

    re: 2015 Power Rankings (2.0)

Ok, I love Shadow just as much as the next guy, but what makes Oakland a #6 team all of a sudden?

I know there was a nickel's worth of difference between SF, Oak, and LAD last season. I just think we are all below 10th place until we prove different.

Thanks for provoking discussion by posting these rankings though.

I think based on my better than expected performance last year, I am expecting more this year than I should. I feel I got better in the offseason, for sure. But I agree that I likely will lose out on the Wild Card to the White Sox.

I think the Cubs are selling themselves short.

Hey one day my team will finally put it all together instead of being a bunch of disappointments every single year haha

Maybe ditching my leadoff hitter will somehow make this team better. Yes that was what the team needed, a worse balance in the offense.
Yeah I don't really exist anymore

I think Oakland has a bunch of talent. They'd be even scarier with a more active GM. Once your farm hands round out, you'll be scary again. LA did some rebuilding so I don't think Cain-Biddle-Van Hekken can carry them far. It's really a crap shoot in this league beyond the first 3 teams, although I think Philly could be huge.

I have virtually the same team that won 105 games last season.

    re: 2015 Power Rankings (2.0)

Busy week put us behind one sim but that might be for the better given the notorious slow starts and whacky early play in this league in the last few years. So far, this season has not been any different.

    24. New York (A) 0
    23. New York (N) -8
    22. Kansas City -1
    21. Los Angeles -2
    20. Atlanta +2
    19. Pittsburgh +4
    18. San Francisco -7
    17. Seattle +1
    16. Toronto +1
    15. Cincinnati +5
    14. St. Louis -4
    13. Anaheim -8
    12. Cleveland -11
    11. Detroit +5
    10. San Diego -1
    9. Baltimore +4
    8. Philadelphia -4
    7. Oakland -1
    6. Minnesota +2
    5. Washington -2
    4. Boston +10
    3. Chicago (A) +4
    2. Arizona 0
    1. Chicago (N) +11

The biggest falls: the Mets, Anaheim, San Fran, and perennial contender Cleveland were hit the hardest after 3 sims. Biggest jumps: Boston and the Chicago Cubs checked in with double digit jumps and are currently leading their respective divisions.
