Texas has lost nearly $55 million dollars over the last three years. I know I have money, but revenue is not good enough for me to just throw mine around. I'll leave the $30 mil offers to the guys that actually make money.

Integrity can accommodate the inadvertent error and the honest difference of opinion; it cannot accommodate deceit or subordination of principle.

I won a world series, have been to the playoffs since 2000, and my fan loyalty increased to GREAT, but I have less money than teams who haven't been good in years. I know, I know, John Henry charges a bajillion dollars for season tickets. He's fired along with everyone else, however, everyone may rejoice.

Your money is also less because you've lost money 5 out of the last 6 seasons and 12 out of the last 15 seasons...assuming you've controlled them for that long. Regardless, that's why you have no money.
The top two FA didn't look at my offers. Bastards.

Where is Mission, Saber, Foster, Leo, et. al.?
I was hoping that if I made 8 big FA's that they would be spread out. It appears that this strategy is backfiring on me with a couple of you not wanting to take on a big contract. Well, live and learn. I am open to suggestions. If I hadn't taken Griffey's crazy contract off of Detroit, I'd be bidding myself.
My reluctance stems from that fact that there are so many studs as far as ratings in this league, but that doesn't always equal stud results. My 10,10,10 SP hasn't performed as well others with similar or even slightly lesser ratings. Why am I going to try to sign a guy for $20 mil + or whatever and then be stuck with an under-performer for a long time?
I also would like to increase my revenue more. It was about $60 mil last season and my payroll is already about $48 mil. That doesn't leave me a lot of room despite all of the cash, FA, and extension money I have. I'm not against going over, but I don't want to go too far over.
The talent level is pretty high. I think you made too many FA personally and with the top teams worried about not losing a ton of money every year. I think the class would have been fine without them. I didnt think you were going to make so many FA and that execptionally strong. I only made 2 offers to them with the thought that someone else was going to overpay on either of them. Which would scare off some GMs as well. I still have to resign my core guys (Oswalt, Romero, Polanco, Ratliff, possibly James Jackson, and Berke)

Good points. I may go in tonight and delete a couple that still don't have any offers on them. I did this as a way to even out the finances. The teams that have been open long have HUGE cash reserves. I wanted to correct the market in one fell swoop that carried itself out over the life of the contracts. Provie makes a good point about under-performers.
Keep the suggestions coming.
A lot of the disparity had to do with the activity as well.

I never really had money (I had enough, but not these ridiculous amounts that seemingly half the league have), they were in bad shape when I took over AND their previous owner literally gave away Jim Thome. Bastard. I did spend my money, but I never gave out some of these crazy contracts you see and in fact, my biggest contract I've ever given out was to this awesome Asian guy that Dancing Homer lost, but he had a career ending injury 2-3 games into the season. Needless to say, that sucked.
I think I've had Boston since 1998? 1999? I don't remember. I think my first draft pick was Nomar.

Well, I would like to bid on a few of them, but they all hate my org. What can I do?
I wouldn't delete any of them. Just because they won't be getting $30M per season contracts doesn't mean this was a bad idea. Shit, I think it would be a bad idea if they all did.

I would agree. A lot of those contracts running around is bad for the league.
Hey, Nomar retired today in real life. Can he retire in this league too?

So yea, pretty much every free agent hates my org. So much for finding a top of the rotation starter without trading my farm.
