    Re: 2004 Random Ramblings

I suppose if you were whining about Shewmaker being hurt, then I could see how your season would be tarnished. But since Green isn't even a top 3 hitter for your team (he had a decent start, but far from amazing or MVP caliber), you could easily trade for a replacement since several teams are looking to deal veterans.

To put it short, stop being John Henry and go be George Steinbrenner.

Well it's hard to be George Steinbrenner when my payroll is already significantly higher than my revenue from last year. And how cam you say Green isn't a top 3 hitter? He's got the 2nd highest HR's and OPS of any of my starters in the lineup. In fact I would argue he's 2nd most important behind Shewmaker.

You don't need 110+ Million dollar payrolls to win. Ill just stick with the current 82 Million right now. Its how you spend the dough not how much. Next year's projected will be around 88 M. (not sure how much Oswalt will get in his arby years.)

By saying Steinbrenner, I meant go GET IT, and not whine about not getting it. Hence referencing Henry.

    Batting AVG: .304 (1st)
    Homeruns: 99 (4th)
    Walks: 242 (5th)
    Stolen Bases: 164 (1st)
    Runs Scored: 493 (2nd)

    Pitching ERA: 3.78 (3rd)
    Opponents AVG: .269 (7th)
    HRs Allowed: 39 (1st)
    Walks Allowed: 135 (1st)

Still hold the best record by 1 game over Chicago (A). Okay, Zito, you were right on James Jackson at 1B so far. Orestes Romero continues to pitch great and could be interesting if he can keep it up. Dean Cosey is on pace for 220+ H, 150 R, and 120 SBs.

    Re: 2004 Random Ramblings

Not finding a lot of luck trading older guys the Angels shifted a bit. Nothing official but going to be a major adjustment in the lineup to try and take a bit more advantage of a couple players and more emphasis on defense (Encarncion to LF for Lumpkin). Couple other players get their opportunity to make an impact in the majors.

Hopefully Harang to the pen fixes his stupid arm. I blame Duhhhsty Baker for his inefficiencies.

    Batting AVG: .270 (17th)
    Homeruns: 78 (T-13th)
    Walks: 196 (19th)
    Stolen Bases: 83 (13th)
    Runs Scored: 406 (16th)

    Pitching ERA: 5.29 (18th)
    Opponents AVG: .291 (17th)
    HRs Allowed: 110 (20th)
    Walks Allowed: 217 (11th)
    Runs Allowed: 473 (19th)

The good news was they went 20-1. Bad news all the freaking injuries. Santana for a week, Romero for the rest of the regular season and Gagne for the whole season.

The development of my prospects is looking good. This team could be in pretty good shape after the 05 season.

Don't really like this team, maybe they should all retire.

If you really feel that way, I'll take Ortiz, Garciaparra, Manny, Ichiro, Pettite, and Zito off your hands.

Hanging in there for the Wild Card still. Figgins has been a huge addition to the team since coming up, really giving us a spark at leadoff.

7/14 against the cardinals.. WTF was that, OM? No wonder Garces is injured. He started, pitched 8.1 innings, walked 16, and.. still won.

The only explanation that I can think of is that Zito decided that he didn't want to pitch for a few more days and instead entered a donut eating contest.

Seriously, this AI does some really dumb shit at time. IDK what to say.
