Just under a week after giving the Blue Jays a scare, pitcher A.J. Burnett gave the team some good news.
Burnett took to the field today and reported no problems throwing on the side.
The free agent acquistion left Toronto's 8-4 loss to the Boston Red Sox on Saturday after throwing only one pitch in the second inning but an MRI showed it was just scar tissue breaking away in his right elbow.
Burnett threw long tosses with a trainer for 15 minutes and will go see a doctor on Saturday
There is no time table for his return.
Burnett, who had Tommy John surgery three years ago, was 12-12 with a 3.44 ERA with the Marlins in 2005.
