I like Reed has the 4th OF and I do think Catalanotto's days are numbered as a jayTORONTO (CP) - The Blue Jays signed outfielder Reed Johnson to a one-year, $1.425-million US contract Wednesday, avoiding arbitration in the process.
Johnson, who turns 29 Thursday, appeared in 142 games last season, batting .269 with eight home runs and 58 RBIs.
The California native has spent three seasons in the major leagues, all with Toronto. His career totals are .277 with 28 home runs and 171 RBIs.
