Wow! AA is really cutting the fat on this team. Rivera has some pop in his bat but he has lost a step defensively. If the Jays can get some pieces for him and salary relief, more power to them. I agree with Rosenthal in that a deal won't be done anytime soon. I can't see a fit with the Jays or any other team right now. Rivera was acquired from the Rangers as part of the Vernon Wells deal last month, but much like Mike Napoli, he might not be long for Toronto. The 32-year-old outfielder doesn't fit in the team's long-term plans and Alex Anthopoulos would likely be thrilled to shed his $5.25 million salary. Rosenthal notes that a deal is unlikely to occur before spring training.
