How do you guys think the new GM did in the Halladay trade?
Pretty good, I like the return
Not enough
Should have kept Halladay for 2010

I think this is going to be one of those deals that you won't know for sure how well they did until you see the fruit bear from the tree. I think he got bigtime talent in return for sure. But for a Jays standpoint, they won't see how well they've done until they see what kind of ceiling these guys have.
Initially, if I have to say how well he did, I say it was pretty good. I doubt there was a better package than this for him. These guys are all touted to be big pretty good MLB talents. I am particularly looking forward to see Drabek pitch.
add to the fact that he dealt Halladay to the NL and out of the yankees and red sox hands is a bonus and also to a east team for Halladay so he doesn't have to uproot his family it worked for all parties

That is a very good point man. Knowing that you guys won't have to contend against him very often is a huge plus!
its a gigantic plus. Seeing Doc in Boston or New York would pull the old heart strings every time.
Option D: Wait and see.
I think we all know that with baseball more than almost any sport, when dealing veterans for young players, who the Hell knows right away? Ok, yes, Toronto got a lot more than what Minnesota received for Johan Santana. Then again, we've seen large cracks in Santana, so maybe they knew something we didn't.
There are so many scouts who say Drabek is a frontline starter, there are probably as many that say he's a middle of the rotation starter. In other words, he's either going to be CC Sabathia or he's going to be Joe Blanton. Or, he'll be a bust. So. It's hard to say. Toronto got some touted prospects, it's a start but if I'm a Toronto fan, I'm bitter. But I'm not, so I'm giddy because Halladay could dominate the AL, could he absolutely OWN the NL? And is he going to pull a Josh Beckett, John Smoltz, Jack Morris, etc. and be legendary in the playoffs? Who knows. But it's exciting!
Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
Ted: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.
Barney: Circle gets the square!

Travis D'Arnaud's potential can range from being the forgotten piece of the trade to the longest tenured Jay out of the three players because of the scarcity of MLB catchers who can hit a little.
For now I like it, but I am not gonna place a seal of approval on it until a year or so as to see what the "New Flock" of Jays are like.
