TORONTO (CP) - Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Troy Glaus underwent successful surgery on his left foot Monday, while first baseman Lyle Overbay revealed that his season will end next week after a second operation on his right hand.
Overbay said his hand just wasn't reacting the way it usually does, keeping his right hand from properly guiding his bat through the strike zone. He's hoping to be back to normal after the 3-to-6 weeks it will take for the bones to fully heal again.
"Lyle's just not the same," said Ricciardi. "There comes a point where you're just not helping the team so you're better off getting it taken care of."
