Jays try to re-build Redman
Sportsnet.ca has learned that the Toronto Blue Jays have signed former all-star pitcher Mark Redman to a minor league deal and he started Tuesday night for triple-A Syracuse.
Redman allowed one earned run in 4 1/3 innings, with four walks and three strikeouts in his Blue Jay organization debut.
In six games with the Atlanta Braves this season, the left-hander was 0-4 with an 11.63 ERA.
His best season was 2003 with the Florida Marlins when he went 14-9 with a 3.59 ERA, though he was named an all-star for the Kansas City Royals in 2006.
