Jays won first 2 games against the exp...um, Nationals
old joke now, but I can't get enough of it.
In game 1 it was no surprise that Roy Halladay was in fine form, going 7 and 1/3 with 6 K's for the win. Adam Lind and Troy Glaus provided the offense with a HR each, Lind with his 7th and Glaus with his 11th (Glaus's 3rd HR in 5 games), Gregg Zaun made his 1st since coming back from injury and helped the team with 2 RBI. Wells added 3 hits in 5 AB.
Game 2 saw Shawn Marcum taking the hill against rookie Levale Speigner, Marcum brought his A game earlier today going 7 innings, with only allowing 3 hits (2 of those hits were solo HR to Zimmerman and Young), 3 walks, and 2 ER. Marcum added a career high in Strikeouts with 11. Vernon Wells went 2 for 3 with a HR (laser to 2nd deck) and 4 RBI. Frank Thomas also added 2 RBI with a 2 for 4 day.
It's too bad the sweep won't happen with Josh Towers going tomorrow with AJ Burnett missing his start with a strain in his throwing shoulder. Towers sucks and shouldn't be in the rotation much less the Majors.
