TORONTO (CP) - The Toronto Blue Jays have trudged through the opening month of the new season, alternating between brilliant and brutal in a pattern reminiscent of the 2006 campaign.

Unhappy with his team hovering around .500, general manager J.P. Ricciardi shook things up Saturday morning, moving Victor Zambrano into the starting rotation, banishing Josh Towers to the bullpen and activating Troy Glaus from the disabled list.

While Glaus' return from a bone spur in his left heel was expected, the decision to flip-flop Zambrano and Towers came as a surprise. Towers, 1-3 with a 4.70 earned-run average, hasn't pitched poorly this season but has run out of chances.

Finally got Towers out of there.
