I'm going to bed unless things will be updated soon. Otherwise, I'll wait till later on to find out if I re-united the Garciaparras or not.

Why exactly is sending in a blind bid more complicated? I'd say at least 20 out of 30 GMs find it easier to send a bid sometimes during the day than to be around at 12:00:01 to send offers. Why make it more complicaed??? First come first serve is easy enough...
You can still offer them a MLC during offseason free agency. Or, in case you allow in season MLC , send a blind bid for a MLC.I'm curious Lou...what is your solution for the "under 25 year old" minor leaguers. Would we accept blind bids for them also.
Yeah, sure. That's why free agent always take the first offer they get. Oh,wait, they don't. For every free agent you name me who took the first offer he got I can name you three who waited to see where they got the most money. But still, in real FA, when it starts at 12:01 am, sometimes early bird can get the worm. Team A calls at 12:02 and makes plan for a visit that afternoon and offers 2 mil. Team B calls at 12:20 and sets up a meeting for the next day and offers 3 mil. Player goes to Team A, likes what he sees, he never visits Team B. All to the point of sometimes early bird gets the worm.
No, a lot of players are not signed to minor league deals, because the deals cost the teams money in real life. Not much, but still. These free agents don't sit at home (although some do), they play independent ball, go to Japan or something. In the MLB, there isn't this pool of players just sitting at home waiting for a team to need them and sign them. MLB teams sign players to minor league deals to see how they perform and in case they need to call on them in the future. I guess you could call it hoarding players if you want to.
I never complained about the draft taking so long. I actually wanted to do more rounds than we did. All I did was making suggestions how to speed up the draft.Dont ***** about the draft taking so long and then ***** that FA isnt taking long enough.
Just my point. Who would have complained if everyone had to send in blind offers within three days?I could have given a 7 day notice of the time that FA offers would be accpeted, but any GM that couldn't be online at that time would complain.

I have a suggestion, lets let Crazy run his league as he sees fit
A blind bid for a MLC? So you are still offering these minor leaguers MLCs? Would other teams be offering them Major League contracts? If everybody is sending in blind bids for MLCs, then who gets the player? I just don't get the reason on this one. The Major Leaguers I understand, but there are hundreds of minor leaguers. Are teams supposed to pay them? If a team has to pay $1,000,000 to get a 2 star spect, then nobody will be able to stay within the salary cap.Originally Posted by Lou Brown (Indians)

Well, they wouldn't have to pay a million, but the league minimum.Originally Posted by CrazyEights

Well...then nobody would be able to set their minor league line-ups, because they wouldn't have enough players. I know you wouldn't pay $300k for some 21 year old with no talent or potential to be my AA catcher.Originally Posted by Lou Brown (Indians)
And those 2 star spects signed for "leauge" minimum will not longer be spects for that team after the current year... contract expires and they are gone...
This is just a game dammit.... supposed to be fun... also not supposed to seem like a chore to Crazy for running it... quit the *****ing.... suck it up and drive on like the rest of us

2nd of all, thats the ONLY time you will see a 1st come 1st serve like that. if your worried about a 39 yr old OF whos talents could fall off the map. Then you got some serious problems with your team. Yeah i was on at and i knew about it for a while. Sure i couldnt make it but there isnt a single player on that list that would make a huge impact on my roster for more than a year. Keep in mind all contracts were for ONE year. if they want to resign them, fine so be it. if they want to add to their cap, thats their choice. let teams run their teams the way they want too. By the way, you have dropped the gauntlet. Cause i will defend this decision cause its not like Felix Hernandez got cut for free. Its a sim league, and even then the FAs arent superstars, why are we making WWIII out of this.

Ok, I give up with the "no minor league contracts during the season".
But I'm still for blind bidding in off season FA.

It didn't seem like most GMs wanted to deal with it though. It seemed like it just created more work for everybody, but didn't give much benefit since most of the players involved don't have a lot of value.
If the majority of the GMs want to use one of your ideas then I would be more than willing to give it a try. I just don't think the majority of the league wants to complicate the league even more. I was told by several GMs that when we added the waiver system, that it was just more work and less fun. To me.... that defeats the whole purpose. If the league becomes less fun, then what's the point of even participating in the league. None of us have to do this. We do it because we like doing it.

Ill tell you know the MLC are no big deal. But i would suggest having the Minor League FAs then.
