....hopefully ootp will magically fix the contract situations itself
I doubt that will happen. I thought about holding off on the next sim until I could figure something out, but I don't think there is much point in that. The contract situation won't come into play until the end of the season anyways. Besides... my fear is that there is no way to fix it.
well, last case scenario would be to sign the players with 3 years or less to the automatic resign amount (300k)....and guesstimate what arbitration salaries should be for guys with 3-5 years of experience
That's a lot of extra work, and who would guesstimate? I wouldn't want to do it, because I wouldn't want to deal with the angry pms from GMs saying that I guesstimated too high.Originally Posted by albbla2000mu
I think it would be better to just go with contract extensions and let the players decide like they do for soon to be free agents. yeah...it might be a little higher, but the alternative could really end up in a mess.
Any thoughts?
Well, if we go with having to sign players I would love to know sooner rather than later b/c players will be getting big raises from 300k to millions....especially killing teams like mine with a bunch of young good players. I will be interesting, thats for sure.
I second that. It will also kill teams that will have players wanting to leave even though their contracts weren't supposed to end this season.players will be getting big raises from 300k to millions....especially killing teams like mine with a bunch of young good players.
Do you guys have a better solution? I'm listening if you do. I just don't want to be blamed for handing out too big of contracts in arbitration, and I know I will be.Originally Posted by realmofotalk
I guess we don't have much choice. It's the only way to prevent high revenue teams or more Cooperstown teams from reaping young star players in free agency.
You're just going to have to edit their contracts to be 300k or MLCs. As for the veteran FAs, I don't know, teams will just have to try and resign them(unless they remember what the contract was and tell you in all honesty). It's not to say that this is the case for everyone, because it's not for me.
I'd ask Mission, see what he thinks.
Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
Ted: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.
Barney: Circle gets the square!

Most players get a lot more than $300K in arbitration. It's usually in the millions. I haven't had a chance to look that closely at the players affected, but I wouldn't think there qould be a huge difference.Originally Posted by Kingdom_of_Zito

Thanks for giving me some names General. I check to see what they would want for extensions, just to see what we're looking at.
Thanks Crazy. Crain will be arbit. eligible after next season and Anderson was arbit eligible after this year if I am not mistaken.

General,
It's too early in the season. They won't talk about extensions.
