I wouldn't make it that tight if we go with the usual one round. 48 hours could suffice there.
But we'd probably need a strict 24 hours or auto with 2 or 3 rounds to limit the wait.

Maybe if they are within 5 picks send a list to make it go faster?

I like that idea as well, but it'd be extra work for Prov.
Zodious, do you realize there are 72 5.0 prospects to be selected??? Normally, we all would agree that the second round is best suited for auto, but in these once in awhile deep drafts... A GM can cater his picks to his preferences in the second and third rounds. Slyder loves his high control pitchers...
At the speed that this league moves, its already for more active GMs.... I say stick to the 24 hour limit. Any longer and your just going to put the league to sleep waiting 20+ days to do anything while waiting on your pick...
That is one of the reasons I like the draft before the season starts. Otherwise, the draft brings the season to a grinding halt.
You assume that every GM is going to take the full time limit if it's longer.
We could have a twenty year time limit and I'll likely draft within five minutes of it being my turn. 8 hours at most if I'm at work when my time comes.
I like drafting multiple rounds if we keep very small window to pick. Those that are interested will be checking occasionally anyway. If you don't check then snooze ya lose.
I like it because we have access to the prospects right away, but it seems to me this stalls the league more as we have to finish the draft before we can even begin instead of letting it go in the background as we carry on with everything else. That said, I really only see it being this kind of conundrum during the occasional deep draft.
draft one round. send lists for rounds 2-3.
I like Porter's idea better than an AIM chat, that's for sure.
I had a pretty well planned stategy going in, and if we were planning on auto-ing rounds 2 and 3, I may have chose differently.
I went with 2 rounds, however, I am on board with all 3 rounds and enforcing 24 hours to pick. That's plenty of time and if you're busy, send a list or tell PA to auto.
Also fine if we have a chat set up on here to draft live.
Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
Ted: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.
Barney: Circle gets the square!
