    Free Agent Compensation Rules

Type A free agents will net a first round pick as well as a 1st round sandwich pick. The top 10 picks are protected. If a top 10 pick team signs a Type A free agent, the comp team will instead get their 2nd round pick, along with the sandwich pick still. The players must be signed before the FA scraps period in order to be eligible for comp.

Type B free agents will net a second round pick. The top 10 picks are protected. If a top 10 pick team signs a Type B free agent, the comp team will instead get their 3rd round pick No sandwich pick will be given for Type B free agents.

New Rule edit: If you are slated to receive a 3rd rounder or worse for a Type A, or a 4th rounder or worse for a Type B due to one team signing multiple comp eligible FA's, you will in addition get a sandwich pick after the 1st round for Type A's, or after the 2nd round for Type B's.

Teams signing more than 1 Type A or B free agent will give away their picks depending on the following formula:

Add their actuals for the 5 major ratings categories for hitters, and the 3 for the pitchers. Whoever has the higher total, their former team will get the assigned pick, and then go down the draft order for the other players.

    To qualify for compensation:

    Hitter: 470 AB's
Pitcher: 170 IP or 17 starts or 65 appearances

    Type A must have:

Hitter: .850 OPS or .370 OBP
Pitcher (if qualified with 170 IP or 17 starts): 3.60 ERA
Pitcher (if qualified with 65 appearances): 3.30 ERA

    Type B must have:

Hitter: .775 OPS or .340 OBP
Pitcher (if qualified with 170 IP or 17 starts): 4.20 ERA
Pitcher (if qualified with 65 appearances): 3.90 ERA

    Re: Free Agent Compensation Rules

I lost Cody Ross who wanted a contract I couldn't afford, he had 400 PA's (about 350 AB's), an OPS at .863 and an OBP at .375. I really regret playing the turd known as Todd Linden and ruining my chance at a type A (or at the worst a type B.)
