This deal was redone 5 times for a total of 6 trades. It got pretty ridiculous in the Trade Council. I'm making the executive decision to prevent this nonsense by enacting a new rule. From now on, trades can only be reworked twice, for a total of 3 attempts in the Trade Council. I think everyone in the Trade Council, including myself and LJ, are smart enough to decide if GM's are trying to rework a deal or if they're making a completely different one.

On another note, I will keep track of draft picks traded by keeping a list here in the transactions forum.

There was nothing there I wanted to pay next year... wasn't going to renew Lackey, and I didn't want to pay Santana or Saunders through arby

Getting the #1 pick in this loaded draft gives me a near-surefire elite player in the next couple of years, considering I'm trying to rebuild thats worth gold to me.

I could afford to hand him the draft pick, cause I'm getting 1-2 in sandwich pick comp so its not a big loss

All that for 1 draft pick... in OOTP that could be a death sentance. Maybe I ought to just package all my picks for various players to deepen my farm and save the time of actually drafting . Short of a Guarentee ready now spec in the draft the TC overly valued it.

BTW Washington I'd like to get a couple pitchers if possible .

Saunders and Walden are decent, but nothing special, and even Ervin is good but not great. Lackey is a FA after this year, and if you look at the (UNFINISHED) Draft Class, there are some DAMN good players there.

Its the #1 pick in the 1st class, I was assured that there will be very developed specs if thats the route I go. If this was a normal draft I'd understand the hesitance.

As you can see I tried to get more but the TC didn't allow it so this is the value they put on it, it might be slightly too high but hopefully this spec is great and mostly developed

For 1 year of Lackey, 4 years of mediocre pitching, and a 4.0 spec? I think I'll take the Pujols potential for that. I also saved 15 mil off my payroll which for a rebuilding team is nice
