That's great Brown. When you're done send me your list and I'll get Kyle to either make the changes, or send me the file so I can do it.

    Re: TBSL Random Rumblings

Ok guys. I read through this thread, and I'll make changes anyone sends to me or posts here as far as moving players goes. Just know.......it is SO TEDIOUS and will probably take me at least an hour for each team, especially with that amount of players moving. Creating players takes the longest, and I'm not sure if I'm up for that. But we shall see.

Finally, I know it sucks that some guys retired, but there's nothing I can do about that really. Zito mentioned a program that can unretire players, but I haven't been able to find it. If anyone has a link to a download, that would be amazing. But for right now, short of me recreating those players (which I really don't know if I want to do), there's nothing we can do.

This might take a good week to do. I have a lot of time being home, but I can only do so much at once. If everyone's good with waiting, then I'm up for it. But if you guys want to start and don't mind some players on the wrong team, then let me know too.

I want this to be what everyone wants, not what I want.

I want to start when the players are on the right teams, I don't care how long it takes.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

I agree with brown on waiting.
If we are going to do it, we shall do it right.

I'll get a list into you about the Ti-Cats. And by list, I mean the tampa trade is the only thing I have found.

    EDIT: Nevermind, already done.

As far as unretiring players. One thing you can do is download lehman's database, and import the player into you league file. Then use the career editor that Nick mantioned to bring them up to date. Like most things in OOTP, it is time consuming, but well worth it in the end.

I don't have any problem waiting if we can get the teams more accurate. Like Nick said, it is important to take your time to do it right. I know it's hard to be patient when you want to get things moving along, but the league will be stronger for it.

As long as FA signings are frozen right now (aka no guys swiching teams if they sign deals), I'm cool with waiting forever to get the right guys on the right rosters.

Speaking of FA...I think an advantage of waiting longer is getting some of those FAs on the right teams. Otherwise where do you put Mark Teixeira, or Manny Ramirez, or Orlando Hudson, or Derek Lowe etc...although we know where cj wants Tex

CJ, if we wait, we're not freezing FA's. If Manny signs with someone tomorrow, he goes to that team

Why? If we are spending time to make the rosters right, then we shouldn't freeze free agent signings.

If we don't impose a freeze, how will teams ever be able to start developing strategies for the upcoming season, also if trades occur now say Peavy to somewhere, the specs they will get in return might not be the same in OOTP.

By imposing a freeze, we allow teams to see where their cap situation is and start to consider moves, otherwise this will never end and we will never get started, are we going to wait til March when everybody is signed?

We should impose a freeze as of now so teams can get planning and dealing. Any deadline we set would be objective and how could we deal with deals pending physicals and what not if we do it now there are no pending deals waiting so its cut and dry.

I think right now I'm more worried about getting the league set up than developing a strategy.
