2020 Stadium Changes (Tampa Bay read please)

I've updated all of the stadiums to reflect current names and current capacities. Since we are in 2020, I've also included future real life parks for Tampa, Oakland, Florida, Minnesota and, both New York teams. This won't have a major impact on most teams, but some teams have a smaller capacity now. I'm letting you know so you can adjust your ticket prices to offset the difference.

The default ticket price is $10, but you can have it from $1 to $20...$10 usually works fine, but you can lower it if you have low fan interest and raise it if you have high interest. I use $11...sometimes I bump it up to $12, but usually $11.

    Anaheim - average per game 45,090 / new capacity 45,050 = -40 seats
Tampa Bay - average per game 44,974 / new capacity 35,000 -9,974 seats

A few other stadium capacities went down, but those teams are averaging less than their capacity so it won't change their finances. I guess it really only has a major impact on TB. So TB should raise their ticket prices. For example:

    2019 attendance revenue: $449,741 (44,974 per game x $10)
    projected 2020 attendance revenue $350,000 (35,000 per game x $10)

That's $99,741 less revenue per game.

$11 tickets may yield $385,000 per game
$12 tickets may yield $420,000 per game
$13 tickets may yield $455,000 per game (higher than 2019 per game)
$14 tickets may yield $490,000 per game

I say "may yield" because sometimes when you raise the price the attendance goes down slightly, but since you're losing almost 10,000 in seats it should bring you down close to your new capacity. I can't guarantee it though...it may take some playing around with.

    2019 attendance revenue: $36,878,790 (82 home games due to 1-game playoff)...would have been $36,429,021
    2020 projected at $10: $28,350,000
    2020 projected at $11: $31,185,000
    2020 projected at $12: $34,020,000
2020 projected at $13: $36,855,000 (slightly less than 2019 due to 1 less game, but more if 2019 were 81 games)
    2020 projected at $14: $39,690,000

your fan interest is 95 so you should be able to support the increase in ticket price with a smaller capacity. if the capacity was higher and you raised the price, the attendance would probably go down...but your attendance is going down due to capacity. So let me know what you want the price to be now...it may take a little tinkering, but the financial aspects are a huge part of this game.

If it were me, I'd raise your prices to either $12 or $13 to see what happens first.

Does this mean different dimensions, capacity or anything like that?

So does that mean that you changed Shea Stadium to be named Citi Field, but with Shea Stadium's dimensions?

I only changed the names and capacities...

I can change the dimensions, but the parks that aren't built yet don't have all that info.

Well, I can find you info on Citi, Yankee II, and possibly Minnesota, Oakland, Tampa, Florida. It's obviously not built yet, but based on the blueprints and plans, I have that information.

Agreed. I mean, it's not a big deal, but if you want the dimensions, I can find the planned dimensions for you.

right, that's basically what I meant about some of the parks not having that info. I didn't realize that Yankee Stadium was going to be exactly the same. I'll change Minnesota now. Thanks.

Another site has the capacity of the new Ray Ballpark as 35,000 so I'm bumping it up to that. It has the Marlins as 37,000 instead of 38,000...but I'll leave it at 38,000. I updated the numbers in my TB example based on the new capacity.

Do I have to lose 11,000 seats? I can't just choose to keep the old ballpark?
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

it's less than 10,000 now. the choice is to raise the ticket prices slightly. I edited my first post to reflect the new stadium capacity. I'm trying to make it realistic. TB will not have Tropicana Field and its capacity in 2020.

All right...I'll raise it to $13 then and see how that goes

OK, and dude, you know I'll take care of it if shit goes horribly wrong It should be OK though. Higher ticket price x lower capacity = lower ticket price x higher capacity, you know? I know it probably seems stupid, but when I started changing stuff I didn't realize it would have a huge impact on any team...never mind only your team.
