Don't let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.

I didn't realize the pirates had collected so many big hitters. Jeese.

ohhhhh shit, henks is in the house
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.
Ah, give me something clever to say here.
and that other guy Brewcrewrock posted for looked so promising.
Welcome to the league Henks!
Former GM of...
S3SL Padres 2017-2030
SBSL Isotopes 2007-2009
TSSL Cubs 2006-2018
TPSL Cubs 2007-2018
I PMed Henks before brewcrewrock posted for him...it was actually shortly after your post about a friend. Henks wasn't on for a few days, thought about it for a couple days, and PMed me a little while ago saying he would take them. The league is full again.
And yes big Z...they got hitters and starting pitching. Not much else though. And they're overextending themselves financially due to low revenue. No pen.
Yeah, Ghosts aren't good at running teams (cough, dam, cough, end cough). I like that 1B they have, a 40/40 man.. at 1B. In living colour.

well, I tried to take care of them as best I could. They didn't lose much money last year, but the arby raises messed it up for this year. I resigned guys cheaply and got rid of some unnecessary contracts...JMHO, but he would benefit from trading a guy or two for some specs or something to bring the payroll close to the revenue. Actually, it's that 1B's arby that blew it up really...he was at $300k last year. He's got some contracts coming off the books though...2 big ones that he may be able to resign cheaply as Jareno is loyal.
I'll cut Papelbon and maybe he can just trade with me ;]

That Francis Morris contract is a killer though, he rarely lived up to the ratings and wanted more than Villegas or Davila? Carl Everett called, he wants his personality back.

yea...I know. Witlon gave up a lot for him though and I thought that he'd produce through that 4 year extension and then retire or whatever. His ratings are still solid and they turned a profit when I resigned him. I didn't think it was too bad. Last season was the first season they lost money in a couple seasons. The previous 2 they made money while I was running them mostly. the 2 before that they lost money though...
The payroll isn't really the issue; it's only $80 mil and was only $70 mil last season. The problem is the revenue.
edit: oh, and they had just come off that 1 game playoff the year before and I wanted to keep the team together to give them every opportunity to make the playoffs.
Henks welcome to the league!!!
