Monday 7/10/2017: Boston's Chavira severely injured
BOSTON - When it rains, it pours. Boston's left-hander Shannon Chavira will not pitch for at least 5 weeks, handing the team a huge setback. He suffered a serious injury in a game against Toronto where he left the field in the 7th inning. Doctors examined him after the game and diagnosed a Spasms Back which will require surgery. His ERA of 3.80 helped him to a 6-6 record this year. He struck out 89 and walked 37 in 116 innings.

Can't explain the gain and loss of plate disclipine on the same day but he's now a 9-8-8-5-8 with decent speed. Good 4th round pick.
