What was the theme for the Ammy Draft this year again? When are we gonna be starting up that thread, and is the class gonna be edited (other than names) or since we had the contraction draft will it stay at its current depth?
the theme will be Family Guy characters.
I will start a thread when I have edited the draft class.
I will edit the class, but it won't be as deep as it would have been due to the contraction draft.
I may start editing today before the live contraction draft, but I'm not sure yet. I was trying to do one thing at a time and the contraction issue was first on my list.
I'm just salivating over Antonio Lopez. He's basically everything I was hoping for in a potential #1 pick. Any chance he can become Quagmire?
Wow. Dude's already filled out for the most part.

Yeah, dude won't be spending any time in the minors.
Must make you guys glad that you lost 110 games last year.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the specialized specs (Family Guy characters in this case) get added separately to the draft? (As opposed to replacing current players with new names.)

I'd rather be in my position and be able to build a winner than one of the teams that is constantly fighting to get over .500 with no real hopes of actually winning WS titles.
I've probably got one more year in the s***ter before having a 5+ year window where I should be right in the thick of things every year. So I'll be back near the top after having had 3 down years after 5 straight playoff years including 2 pennants and 1 WS title. Not a terrible rebuild.
I believe you can win without tanking, and I'll prove it.

I never tanked. I had a crap team, but I never kept guys in the minors or out of my lineup just to try and lose. When specs are ready, I moved them up (Gonzalez was up the whole year, Green was up for half the year, 3-4 other guys got Sept cups of coffee and might stick on the OD roster this year).
I even signed some cheap FAs as stopgaps, just didn't sign anybody that would take more than a one-year commitment.
Theres a huge difference between rebuilding and tanking for a pick.
I don't rebuild, I reload.
Ill have that team that can stay above .500 forever and lose to an evil empire (ANA, or some cases TEX for a while)
He goes to the the 11th winning season in a row to miss the playoffs again. Yay us.
