I haven't done one of these in a while so I figured why not?
lineup
1. SS Jimmy Rollins
2. 3B Paul Molitor
3. LF Pete Rose
4. DH David Ortiz
5. 1B Connor Jackson
6. 2B Del Lander
7. CF Javier Herrera
8. C Ramon Hernandez
9. RF Trevor Taylor
Rollins isn't exactly my idea of the quintessential lead-off hitter, but Rose is too good to be batting lead-off. Nor do I like Del Lander playing 2B, but I already have Ortiz at DH. Overall, I'm happy with the lineup, but it could be better. I love Molitor, Rose, Ortiz, and Jackson in there. When Lander fills out, he'll be a beast for sure.
Rotation (5-man, highest rested)
1. A.J. Burnett
2. Vida Blue
3. B.H. Kim
4. Max Scherzer
5. Adam Wainwright
I like the rotation. Burnett had a solid season for me outside of his record. Blue is a stud and still has room to fill out. Kim did well. Hopefully, Scherzer will fill out. I could do worse than Wainwright at #5.
Mopup
1. Justin Echols
2. Rodolfo Ramos
Middle Reliever
1. J.B. Cox
2. Jacob Johnson
3. Rodolfo Ramos
4. Justin Echols
Setup
1. Santiago Casilla
2. Javier Lopez
Closer
1. Dennis Eckersley
The back end of my bullpen is solid on paper. Casilla moves from closer to setup despite being 3rd last year with 43 saves. Eckersley becomes my closer since he's younger and has only 1 endurance. Cox and Lopez should be fine. Hopefully, Johnson does well. Ramos and Echols aren't playing vital roles. We should be at least over .500, but I hope we can compete for the division. I don't have a lot of depth, but then again who does? If I get any major injuries though, we'll probably be relegated to an also-ran. Thoughts?
