Exactly, KOZ. We agree for once! I have no problem for players losing skill...assuming there's a reason behind it. Ripken talked about luck, in that he was LUCKY to not have INJURIES, DRUGS, ETC cause him to lose his abilities. However, the injuries, drugs, etc are the causes of talent drop offs. Because this game doesn't have it, it tries to compensate with complete randomness, and I don't necessarily agree with that

Again, making it as clear as possible, this would have limits. I think people are quick to assume crazy means saving the whole damn team. Which obviously is not the case.

I'd like to see the idiot that burns the tag on their dying 37 year old reliever, though.

Exactly, Zito. Wow, it's fun to agree for once...it makes me feel less like a moron. I personally think that any franchise tag should be limited to 1-2 a team, and should be locked in for, say, 2 years. That way, you can't switch it to save someone who died...

I also like the idea if you franchise someone, you can't trade them. Obviously, you can choose not to resign them or what have you. I think with a thorough guideline, it would work really well and wouldn't be abused.

I like that idea. I mean, I don't have a problem with certain players losing ability, talent, whatever. But there should be a reason if it happens. I like the idea of a franchise tag as long as it's limited
