Yes, he has underachieved up until this year (and he is playing in a reserve role of sorts). Yeah, he's signed long-term. But he has good ratings, and he's young and will probably last through the duration of the contract.

He's not making TOO much... and if he continues putting up good numbers, he could be worth it.

I'm not looking for much in return, I just need some salary flexibility. If anyone has interest in a solid leadoff man/#2,8,9 hitter... or even a middle of the order hitter when he's on, he might work for you.

I can pay some of the contract for later years too, possibly. I just can't help out this year.

Does anyone have a reasonably cheap catcher, who is about 2.5 stars... and won't cost much? Maybe just a guy sitting in your minors?

Steve Dunne would cost something decent. He's on my MLB team. Geovany Soto in my AAA is cheap though.
