Affeldt... for free / Florida needs a SS

He's 31, so he isn't ancient. He is a lefty with 8-7-6 ratings and one righty stuff point from being a 9-7-6, with his ability to start.... I am sure someone could find him a home as a 5th starter. I really just need to cut loose some salary, so whatever will pass the TC will get it done, please PM me.

    Florida needs a SS

With ARod, Wright, Johnson, and Utley not even wanting to see an offer from me, I need some help preferably at SS but I will consider 2B for the right bat.

CF Austin Kearns - 7-8-7-7-5 with great CF/RF defense could also go

Both are 30, so I would want someone in return of similar ability and age. Please PM me if interested.

    Thanks

Dustin Pedroia plays both 2b and SS equally well. I don't know if he can hit for you, but he did up his gap power to 10 after I sent him down to AAA.

Yep, Pedroia would fit the bill quite nicely, let me know who you like.

Renteria is too expensive/too old for me to take on and Castillo isn't an upgrade over Specht who is my backup option. Thanks anyway.

Reed is gone pending approval. I could still move Kearns for a SS or 2B. I could even package in Ferraro for the right guy.

Re: Affeldt... for free / Florida needs a SS

Affeldt is still available for peanuts.

Kearns can go for a prospect near ready MLB relief (like the 7-8-8 variety) would be swell, or just a decent prospect in general.

If you really want to pay, Robby Newhart is available. If not, Shane Wilson is.

I have no need for infielders.

If someone needs a 1B with OBP and power talents, Chris Carter is available for a prospect. Just 28.

    Need an outfielder?

CF Nick Swisher (6-9-8-9-6, 31 years old) could go as he has not hit in Florida at all. I would want back either MLB pitching no older than him or a prospect. A switch-hitter who can competently play four positions should have some appeal to someone.

I really want to move one out versus sitting him (or one of my other outfielders) as I have crowded but somewhat talented bench.

1B Chris Carter, above average power and OBP skillz could be had for the best offer. Still a young guy and could help to up your run production if used right.

    PM me.

    Re: Need an outfielder?

Carter can still be had on the cheap. He's 5-6-7-10-5 with an 8 in potential power (he already has an 8 in that versus lefties.) For a rebuilding team, he's a young guy with a dirt cheap contract and might give a decent enough performance. Make an offer that is fair and he's yours.
