2009 Texas Rangers, Building for the new decade
Should continue to build after winning a surprising 73 games last year. A very young roster overall with a few veterans to tide over until some more youngsters are ready.
Lineup:
SS Joaquin Arias 4.5P 7/9/6/6/8 (7/9/7/6/7)
C Curtis Thigpen 5.0P 5/9/6/10/5 (6/9/7/10/5)
CF Lance Nix 2.5 8/7/7/4/5
RF Brad Wilkerson 2.5 6/9/7/9/4
1B John Mayberry 2.5 6/8/8/10/5
DH Justin Morneau 2.0 6/8/9/6/4
2B Jose Perez 5.0P 8/7/3/7/8 (9/7/3/10/8)
LF Jason Michaels 2.0 7/7/6/8/5
3B Troy Smith 4.5P 5/6/3/8/3 (5/7/6/10/4)
Bench:
C Chris Iannetta 3.5P 6/8/5/7/7 (7/8/5/8/7)
CF Freddy Guzman 2.0 7/6/3/5/6
LF Jake Blalock 3.0P 5/7/7/3/5 (6/6/8/5/5)
UT Drew Meyer 1.0 6/5/3/4/6

SP Kojirou Haruhiro 4.0 7/9/9 9 Endurance
SP Kameron Loe 2.5 6/7/9 7
SP Kevin Millwood 2.5 6/7/7 9
SP Chaz Roe 5.0P 9/6/10 (10/9/10) 7
SP Earl Hall 5.0P 7/5/8 (10/6/7) 10
Bullpen:
CL Chris Ray 4.5 9/8/9 3
MR Harry Frisbie 3.5P 7/6/7 (8/7/8) 4
MR Fabio Castro 4.0P 6/6/7 (8/6/8) 1
MR Danilo Gonzalez 5.0P 4/7/8 (5/10/10) 3
MR Eric Hurley 5.0P 7/6/6 (8/7/5) 7
MR Akinori Otsuka 2.5 8/5/8 4
MR Sendy Rleal 1.5 8/6/7 4
I've got 5.0P Erbe, 5.0P Santacruz, 3.5P Danks, and 3.5P Walker ready to step in to my rotation/bullpen when needed. 5.0P RF Lamont Kimpel probably needs one more year until he's ready for the show. If my young pitching holds up I could have a pretty solid year. I think .500 is the goal for right now, and it'd be nice to somehow not finish in the AL West Basement.
