A underdeveloping 1B, sure the Draft pick from this year will be a stud but the one down the road won't be as good. Sure, my refusal to spend 15 M on Ramirez will suck. Barfield and Johnson are solid players, my team is still very young and i still have some spects on the farm. I don't have AROD 22 million dollar contract to deal with anymore. I have most of my pitching staff entering Arby this year or next. So having the extra 22 million to spend over the next 2 years will help ease the blow of all the arby guys and try to get them to sign long term. I didn't expect to win the division this year, I just wanted to compete and be at .500 and go for the division next year.

Besides maybe Bard for Renteria theres not much sacrificed the only guy with a legitimate MLB star hopes is Clark and he's probably at least 3 years off.Originally Posted by Kingdom_of_Zito

Vladdy for MVP, what more can I say, T-1st in HR, 3rd in RBI, 2nd in OPS
prospect CF Walter "Ace" Talamantez continues to improve, Contact and Discipline rating vs LHP increased from 6 to 7.
The big question is now do I get him in the lineup with Guerrero, Wells, and Crisp already in the outfield.

He gave up more for ARod than what he got back. He also doesn't have his 2010 1st rounder. John Lucius is a good looking prospect. For what he did, his team isn't that good to screw up a future.
I have more than double the money he has, far better fan support, and I dumped most of my veteran talent and he's still only 5 up on me. Not exactly a crowning achievement. I'll admit he has a special bat and pitcher to build around, but one month he's trading away youth and the next he's trying to trade back for youth. I'm not worried.

3 games out in the division and the Wild Card...if we don't make it, it's because of the offense. My pitching (as usual) has been stellar...I thought I had improved the offense this year, but it isn't doing as well as I had hoped. Soriano really blew for me...Reed missing a month didn't help either.
anyways 8-2 sim.

Livan Hernandez becomes the most unlikely 20 game winner I've ever had. All my starters have to do is hold a lead until the 6th/7th inning and let a combination of Nunez/Sequea/Cortes/McKenzie/Fruto end the game. Fruto has 18 saves since the trade deadline. Ceasar Jimenez allowed 3 hits over 15 innings in this sim alone (sure he allowed 2 hits to the Yankees, but he 1 hit the White Sox). Should be interesting when Craig Anderson comes back around the end of the season.

And your only almost one year younger as a team than I am. I was 6 back 2 sims ago and at one point I was one game under .500. My pitching staffs average age is 28.38, with Phelps, Hernandez and Burnett being the only guys that are 30 and older. Patton, and Bachelder are still in the system and are very solid pitchers coming up. I'm not worried about my team's future. My Projected 2009 Salary: 35.635 Million (probably about 8-9 million more than what you will have in 2009.)Originally Posted by Kingdom_of_Zito

Congrats to Florida and Chicago (A) for being the first teams clinch playoff births.

Yes!!! Huge sim for Milwaukee's playoff chances, from tied for the division lead and a 3 gm lead in the WC to 3 games up on the division!!! Huge sim, can't wait to see the results, although I probably have a good idea.

TB needs to go just 2-4 to avoid the 100 loss mark. Fans can only hope and pray.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.
Ah, give me something clever to say here.
ugh...doesn't look like I'll be making the playoffs unless we run the table and get some help. shitty offense let me down this season.
last year I made a one game playoff and this year I missed the Wild Card by 2 games...very frustrating to be so close. For the 2nd year in a row I led the majors in attendance. That is a plus at least. I did lose $2.5 mil this year due to my broadcast revenue being $4 mil less, but since I made almost $30 mil last year I'm not worried about it.
HOrrible final sim. Only won 1 game. Losing Golson hurt me alot more than I thought cause I completely fell outta the playoff hunt. Even finished 3rd...
Atleast Next year is looking good. Galaz will be called up. Golson will be back. And most of the teram should be the same. Nothing but the good stuff.

completely disappointed in my teams fold BUT william kappel progressed to a 5 star prospect so that upped my mood just a tad. makes up for trading all the kids for dunn and soriano, though soriano had a completely superb 2nd half for me. dunn can suck my dick however.
